From fall florals to cozy-chic knits, maternity fashion pioneer Liz Lange has interpreted this season’s top trends for her line at Target. After single-handedly redefined maternity clothing for women in the ’90s, Liz continues to help high-profile and everyday moms celebrate the beauty of pregnancy.

Liz opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her current collection, this season’s top maternity fashion trends, and expectant celebrities – such as Malin Akerman - who dress their bumps with style.

CBS: Congratulations on your 10th anniversary with Target! Tell us about your current collection.

LL: “Thank you! Our current assortment includes everything pregnant women need to get through the winter season – from cozy, chic sweaters for a day of holiday shopping to luxe dresses with sparkly details for hitting the holiday party circuit.

There are a variety of bright ruched tops and sweaters, jeans, striped boyfriend sweaters, color block tops and printed dresses, all under $40.

This year I also launched my first-ever diaper bag collection, which features on-trend details like prints and gold hardware – while the interior is all about baby with plenty of pockets for easy organization.”

CBS: What are some of this season’s top fashion trends that work well for pregnant women?

LL: “Oxblood: I just love this deep burgundy color and it’s popping up everywhere right now. Embrace it for winter with a dress or chic sweater, or try a more subtle approach with a wine-hued handbag, scarf or belt.

Black and Blue: This is such a hot and unexpected color combination this season. Try it head-to-toe for a super slimming effect.

Cozy Chic: Bundle up without the bulk by layering bold sweaters, stylish cardigans and trendy cords. Ski-lodge looks were all over the runways for fall – just be sure to keep proportions in check and balance oversized, chunky knits with something more fitted on the bottom.

Curve-Conscious: Don’t hide your baby bump. Fitted dresses are in this season and you shouldn’t shy away from them just because you’re pregnant. This body-conscious dress from my collection features side ruching that will hug your curves and stretch with your growing belly.”

CBS: The Hollywood baby boom is still going strong, with everyone from Kristen Bell to Shakira expecting. Who are some of the pregnant trendsetters in Tinseltown these days?

LL: “When Camila Alves was expecting her third, she was such a pro at staying true to her personal style throughout her pregnancies. Whether rocking a boho-beach look with flowy maxi dresses or flaunting her curves in a sexy dress for a night out, her confidence shone through and it’s clear embraced this celebratory time.

Malin Akerman will be one to watch. I can’t wait to see how she translates her modern and sleek style into her maternity wardrobe.”

CBS: You were THE visionary in maternity wear, single-handedly being responsible for getting pregnant women out of their muumuus and into form-fitting clothes! We all thank you! Can you believe how far we’ve come?

LL: ” I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to see so many celebrity baby bumps on the red carpet and everyday women embracing and replicating their style.”

CBS: How are things going on over at Shopafrolic?

LL: “They’re going great! I love working with my sister, Jane, on something we both feel so passionate about. Lately, we’ve enjoyed sharing our favorite holiday tips and trends with our readers.”

CBS: What’s up next for you?

LL: “For 2013, I look forward to continuing to create affordable, stylish maternity wear for Target, and partnering with my sister on our Shopafrolic and OpenSky ventures.”
