A lot has changed for celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels since she last appeared on The Biggest Loser – first and foremost she’s now a mom-of-two, having welcomed kids Lukensia and Phoenix with her partner Heidi Rhoades last year.
She may now be a mom, but don’t expect to see a softer Jillian when she returns to the hit NBC reality show tonight.
“Everybody was like, ‘You’re going to be so much softer.’ And I really wanted to be, but it’s not the case,” she tells PEOPLE. “I feel like aspects of my business and home life are being sacrificed for me to be here, and I need that sacrifice to be worth it. It’s worse than it’s ever been, actually.”
Jillian admits that when she went public with the news about her newly expanded family, she was bracing herself for a rocky response. In the end, though, she was pleasantly surprised,
“I was surprised. People were pretty supportive. We’ve got it all going on in our household — two moms and a black daughter — so I thought we were going to get it from every angle. But for the most part, people basically said, ‘God bless. Congratulations!’”
