Rosie O’Donnell Welcomes Baby No. 5: Dakota

Congratulations to Rosie O’Donnell and wife Michelle Rounds!

In a surprise announcement, Rosie took to Instagram to share their exciting news. “We r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN,” the actress-comedienne, 50, wrote.

Baby Dakota is the first child for Michelle. Rosie and ex-wife Kelli Carpenter are parents to four kids: Parker, 17, Chelsea, 15, Blake, 13, and Vivienne, 10.

“She’s trying to get pregnant,” Rosie said last January of her wife.

“Michelle is seeing a fertility doctor,” a source close to Rosie said. “She is really excited and they cannot wait to add to their family. Rosie goes to all of her doctors’ appointments with her and is really supportive. She isn’t pregnant yet but they hope as soon as possible she will be.”

No further information has been announced at this time.

She does have a very serious disease, but she is being treated. Doesn’t take away from her ability to be a wonderful parent.

Well, if the disease eventually kills you, yes its takes away your ability to be a wonderful parent (or even an average parent)

Well, a Greyhound may eventually kill you, so that takes away your ability to be a wonderful parent (or even an average parent), too.

Or you could cancer or smallpox or Alzheimer’s or an infected toenail … so good luck with all those “maybes” flying around out there.

Maybe you should just get your tubes tied now and save others from worrying about the kind of mother your children will have.

I don’t know whey people have to come on here and make such ugly comments. Wow, it just blows my mind. If you don’t like it, don’t look at it. I think it’s wonderful, and I wish Rosie and Michelle all the luck and happiness in the world.

it’s weird to read these homophobic accounts in this day and age. Who are these people? Rednecks? Bible thumpers? Immature teenagers? I see a happy, loving couple who will love and dote on this child who will have a great life. Perhaps the nasty comments come from those who didn’t have such a great upbringing.

People don’t have to like gays why should they or are the always silenced for that matter andnever get achance to express their opinions and are force feed to accept something that they feel is not right. I am neutral and don’t care but hate it when the whole world has to be accepting when some just don’t like the ideaof homosexuality.. for the com mentors labelling and suppressing these people and callingthem labels such as rednecks and homophobics then you are heterophobics!!! Everyone is entitled to have an opinion whether that is right or wrong in other peoples eyes OK!!!

I can’t even figure out how someone would even CARE if someone else were gay. That’s like caring that someone else like to have sex in a swing, or anal sex or use handcuffs. It’s not of your business who and how other people have sex. Once you stop thinking it IS your business, you won’t care anymore.

Mom number one has some sort of dread disease and mom number two just had a massive heart attack. This just strikes me as really self-centered to bring an infant into such an unsettled situation. Having money doesn’t make up for the fact that little Dakota may end up with no parents.

The article isn’t clear on whether they adopted, used a surrogate, or Michelle gave birth to the baby – so it’s a little premature to say that it’s selfish of them. If they used a surrogate or Michelle was the one who gave birth, then the baby would have been concieved several months before their health problems occurred.

Yes, they are allowed to spout their hatefulness, and we are allowed to call them out for it. It ironic that you are arguing against censoring people at the same time that you are advocating censoring others. Do you not see a contradiction there?

No, people are not forced to like or respect gay people. They aren’t even being forced to stifle their opinion. They’re still free to spout their ignorant, hateful garbage. Other people are simply calling them out on it. No one is being silenced by having someone disagree with them, and no one is forcing anyone to like gay people. Your comment is ridiculous.

Woow don’t you see what’s wrong here? I am not saying that everyone has to love everyone, but seriously. It’s stupid to hate other people for something they are genetically. And omg the idea of homosexuality??? That’s like saying “I don’t like the idea of people being females” “THE IDEA” as if it was something in fashion or something someone invented when they were bored … Ugh it is why I hate homophobic people (cause you are, my friend. Or you are just plain ignorant). Seriously it doesn’t bother you to see ignorant comments of people hating on others for no reason at all? Just because they learned to hate?

I am disgusted by you, homophobic people, and everyone in between for just being plain ignorant.

I’m just trying to figure how they were able to adopt despite both having serious, life-threatening health conditions. I’ve known several couples who were denied adopting a child (including through private routes) because of chronic health problems that were not nearly as deadly as the ones Rosie & her wife suffer from. Money really does talk, it seems.

This is appalling to me. Rosie is old enough to be a grandmother plus she’s had a heart attack and doesn’t appear to be making any lifestyle changes to better her health. I think it’s selfish and don’t understand how people can have babies so willy nilly. They pretend to create a family then break it up a few years later. What a mess.

Contradiction much!! U r doing it yourself!! The poster is not homophobic but is trying to state that when people dont agree with homosexuality they are immediately scorned and are labelled as having a phobia agyainst same sex relations.

U r a big fat bully Rose!! Just becoz u did not agree with the posters opinion u quickly are bullying her to accept your ideals and values!!

Disagreeing with someone and pointing it out, as I did, is not bullying. Labeling everyone who dares to disagree with you as a bully is an insult to the people who truly are bullied.

And the fact that you can’t manage to disagree with my posts without resorting to name-calling and personal attack speaks volumes about the weakness of the position you are attempting to argue.
