Beaming in baby bliss, Rosie O’Donnell shares a series of photos with her newborn daughter Dakota via Instagram.

“Nothing compares to this,” the proud mama captioned the above photo.

In another shot of wife Michelle Rounds cradling their daughter, Rosie wrote, “Only love.”

In a surprise announcement, Rosie took to Instagram Wednesday to share their exciting news. “We r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN,” the actress-comedienne, 50, wrote.

The couple adopted Dakota on Saturday, January 5, her rep confirmed to PEOPLE.

Baby Dakota is the first child for Michelle. Rosie and ex-wife Kelli Carpenter are parents to four kids: Parker, 17, Chelsea, 15, Blake, 13, and Vivienne, 10.

“She’s trying to get pregnant,” Rosie said last January of her wife.

“Michelle is seeing a fertility doctor,” a source close to Rosie said. “She is really excited and they cannot wait to add to their family. Rosie goes to all of her doctors’ appointments with her and is really supportive. She isn’t pregnant yet but they hope as soon as possible she will be.”

  1. I am happy for Rosie and her partner. Best Wishes. However , Rosie already has 4 kids to educate and care for. She is also 50 yrs. who had a recent heart attack. Her partner is also ill. Is it wise to bring a newborn baby to partners with serious health conditions? I have no idea , but I don’t think I would give up my baby to persons who are ill. I have a feeling Kelli took a huge settlement from Rosie when they split. Rumors say she will be on X Factor. That’s a hard job and lots of travel. Her Star Island mansion is up for sale..Hope it all works out and all are healthy and happy.
