Congratulations to new parents Shakira and Gerard Piqué!
The couple announced the birth of their new baby boy on Shakira’s web site today: “We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain,” reads the post.
“The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.
Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.”
Little Milan weighed in at 6lbs and 6oz and both mom and baby are said to be “in excellent health.”
The happy news comes on the heels of earlier reports today that the expectant parents had been spotted arriving at a Barcelona hospital.
Milan is the first child for both Shakira, 35, and Gerard, 25.

I think you’re right. It’s a shame. She should have hidden away so no one knew, then given birth in secret and given her baby away. We did it so much better in the olden days.
