The shower – hosted by 5 of the actress’ closest pals – gathered at papa-to-be Jon Shook‘s restaurant Animal to eat amazing food (such as kale salad with apples, fried chicken with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese, mini carrot cupcakes, and chocolate mousse) and play classic games (such as estimating the circumference of the pregnant star’s belly and guessing the flavors in the different jars of baby food).
Since the Girls and Chicago Fire star doesn’t want to know the baby’s gender, she decided to hold off on unwrapping the gifts.
It seems the 34-year-old star and her fiancé have grown even closer since becoming pregnant.
“When you see this guy going to all the doctor’s appointments with you and you tell him you’re feeling a certain way and two minutes later he’s looked it up on the Internet to tell you that it’s normal, you realize that you’re really starting a family with somebody,” she tells Us Weekly. “And it’s just — there’s no way to look at that person and not be more in love.”
