Kate Middleton: The Inside Scoop On Her Bump Debut

Pregnant Kate Middleton Visits Hope House

From our friends at BabyCenter.com! By Carolyn Robertson.

Royal baby bump watch officially began last week when mom-to-be Kate Middleton debuted her tiny belly to much fanfare during a public appearance in London.

All eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge as she stepped out in a chic MaxMara wrap dress (which later sold out in a matter of hours), including those of The Daily Mirror‘s Royal Reporter Victoria Murphy.

Also expecting her first baby in July, Victoria has actually met Prince William and Kate, and even traveled with them on their overseas tours. These days she’s busy “comparing bumps” with the royal mom-to-be and dishing the details of the pregnancy for BabyCenter UK’s blog.

Front and center for last week’s debut of the “most famous baby bump on the planet,” Victoria reveals that the Duchess, like most expectant moms, seemed happy to finally be able to show off her pregnancy curves.

“…when she did step out of her chauffeur-driven, police-escorted car, Kate surprised [the waiting media] by wearing a summery dress and no coat with her bump fully on show,” Victoria recounts. “And she was putting her hands to it. All the time.”

Weren’t you just the same way? I seemed to always have a hand on my belly when I was pregnant – I did it without even thinking about it. Unfortunately, it seemed that other people, often times complete strangers, always had a hand on my bump as well. I have a feeling the Duchess won’t have to deal with that common complaint, though; a police entourage can sure come in handy sometimes!
