Svan of Sweden began in 1996 with the design of the Svan High Chair by two fathers, Kjell Hagström and Anders Fallman. Is it a high chair or a piece of modern art? I’m absolutely drawn to the Signet High Chair for it’s sleek minimalism and functionality. It would be a permanent piece of furniture in my home as opposed to a plastic contraption that becomes obsolete after infancy. I trust that it can withstand a childhood full of climbing, dragging, bumping and the occasional food fight.

Just wanted to share why I prefer high chair from Svan.
We decided to skip plastic and go with wooden chair, so we went and tried different high chairs available in stores in our area (Ottawa, Canada). At the end we had to pick between 3 options: Stokke, Keekaroo and Svan. I remember when I first showed 3 options online to my wife, she said:” This one!” and pointed to Svan (natural wood). I was leaning toward Stokke, but when we’ve seen them in real life – I was sold on Svan right away. Our favorite feature is the small footprint. We wanted our son to seat between us. The bottom part is not as different, but the top part on Svan is almost twice smaller and makes all the difference letting us seat really close and allowing our shoulders, elbows and hands to move comfortably around the baby without fear of accidentally kicking the wide chair shoulders present in Stokke and Keekaroo. We were surprised to find two models in our stores: Svan High Chair and Svan Signet High Chair. Apparently “Signet” is a newer model with new features like 5-point safety harness and other small improvements.
At the end we picked Svan Signet Complete High Chair Natural and this is my favorite Svan product so far (we’ll take Scooter for a test drive when our son is ready).
