Double the congratulations to Jenna Wolfe!
Not only did the TODAY weekend anchor publicly come out, she also announced the impending arrival of her first child — a girl! — in late August, PEOPLE reports.
“This is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us,” Jenna said of expecting a daughter with partner, NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk.
She added: “But I don’t want to bring my daughter into a world where I’m not comfortable telling everyone who I am and who her mother is.”
“I have big news, this is big for me,” Jenna announced Wednesday on TODAY. “I’m actually pregnant — I’m quite pregnant, actually! My girlfriend Stephanie and I, who works here at NBC, we’re expecting a baby girl in the end of August.”
Together for three years, Jenna, 39, and Stephanie, 40, had a little trouble getting pregnant over the past year.
“We were constantly on the road, juggling a thousand balls at once,” Jenna shared. “It’s a miracle we got it all together.”
The couple, who plan to wed, admit they’re more excited for the baby.
“In a way, we can’t wait to start,” Jenna said. “Stephanie keeps saying, ‘Hurry up! What’s taking so long?’ And I’m like, ‘[The baby's] cooking!’”
