Not only is he handsome, he’s a gracious host! Brothers & Sisters star Gilles Marini and his wife of 15 years, Carole, hosted a dinner party with celebrity chef Ronnie Woo cooking lobster and filets from Get Maine Lobster. Guests enjoyed side dishes and dessert provided by Sweet Arleen’s, with wine by Consensio Wines and lobster print napkins by Funkins.
After the fabulous event hosted by Good Carma Studio, Gilles opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about his wife who is “everything” to him. He went on to talk about their two “fantastic” kids – son Georges, 14, and daughter Juliana, 6 – and the joys of fatherhood. Continue reading to hear about his upcoming projects and his candid thoughts on the paparazzi.
CBS: How are your kids doing? How old are they now? What are they into?
GM: “The kids are doing fantastic! My son is 14-years-old now (March 12) he is very, very athletic. He won 2 international titles and the Gracie National in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu . He loves soccer too.
Juliana now is 6-years-old she is the little actress of the family. She loves to sing, dance and pretend. I am in trouble [laughs].”
CBS: How have you changed since becoming a father? What are some of the greatest rewards of fatherhood? Biggest challenges?
GM: “Not sure if I’ve changed at all. I feel like I’ve always been the same. I grew as a man for sure – hopefully I got better with time.
The greatest rewards are simply when you realize that your kids become respectful to others, honest and full of love. And obviously my biggest challenge is to make sure to maintain that kind of teaching and want to be sure they understand how important this is.”
CBS: What are your upcoming plans for Mother’s Day? Do you usually like to pamper your wife on Mother’s Day? Or maybe you make it a fun family day?
GM: “[Laughs] I pampered my wife all year long. Well let me think about that again, I think she is really the one who pampered us all. We usually go away somewhere, and my kids are making stuff for her on the day. And we save the items always. My wife is everything to me, to us three.”
CBS: Do you celebrate Earth Day in your house? What are some of the ways you teach your kids to be eco-friendly?
GM: “I am very into making sure that we do our part for Mother Earth. Lots of thing in my life, in my house, are toward using less energy, like recycling rain water, etc. My kids helped me set up everything. It’s a super, super important thing to me. We need to change the way we all live. We’ve got to worry about the amount of water we use, the cars we drive, the electricity we use, and more.”
CBS: How do you and your kids feel about the paparazzi? Do they annoy you? Treat you with respect?
GM: “The paparazzi have never ever bothered me or us. They are so not what people think… well at least with me. I feel like many, many celebs use them, then just bash them. Ah, so many little secrets they don’t want you to know.
By the way, without paparazzi no one would really be able to know what is going on in the lives of some of your favorite personalities. I don’t have problem with that community.”
CBS: Tell us about your latest projects.
GM: “I am working on developing a TV show with a friend of mine. And I have another project that I can’t really talk about yet. I am still a regular in Switched at Birth, a show that he’s dear to me. In my eyes, a very important show.”
CBS: What’s up next for you?
GM: “OMG, so much! The last couple weeks there are a lot of projects lining up and really the most exciting thing for me, I am going to hopefully produce now, create and write much more. Seem like the industry likes it, so I cross my fingers. But for now we are taking off to Bora Bora at the Pearl resort – one of our favorite places on earth.”
