Shiri Appleby Welcomes First Child: Natalie Bouader Shook

Congratulations to Shiri Appleby and her fiance Jon Shook who welcomed a baby girl last Saturday (March 23). The couple have named her Natalie Bouader Shook. Bouader is her mother Dina’s maiden name.

The Chicago Fire actress – who announced her pregnancy in December – told US Weekly, “She’s heaven. I’m beyond thrilled.”

The couple wanted to wait until their baby was born to find out the gender. Appleby had said, “It’s really made the whole pregnancy a heightened excitement because you just don’t know what it’s going to be.”

Shook – a chef and restaurant owner – was also a great help to her during the pregnancy.

“When you see this guy going to all the doctor’s appointments with you, and you tell him you’re feeling a certain way, and two minutes later he’s looked it up on the internet to tell you that it’s normal, you realize that you’re really starting a family with somebody. There’s no way to look at that person and not be more in love.”

Appleby had said they plan to tie the knot after the baby arrives.

She revealed, “We’re planning on doing a big wedding after the baby is born. Shiri Shook has a nice ring to it!”

Bouader is her mother’s maiden name. And I think Natalie is a beautiful classy name for a baby!! It’s better then Blue Ivy, Maxwell, and Rainbow!!

    Congrats Shiri and Jon!

Natalie is at least a somewhat ‘normal’ name! Congrats to Shiri and Jon.

Congrats to the parents! Its kind of refreshing seeing a celebrity couple name their child a normal name, besides something like Cucumber or Camel Toe!
