Pink: Motherhood Has Sharpened My Claws

Pop superstar Pink gets gorgeous on Glamour‘s June cover and opens up about motherhood and life with daughter Willow, 22 months.

On how motherhood has changed her: “Somebody asked Carey how I’ve changed since I had Willow, and he said my claws have sharpened. They got longer too.”

On choosing the name Willow Sage: “I love the idea that a willow tree cannot be snapped or broken. And we burn sage all the time. It clears bad energy.”

On her worst parenting day: “When I was at iHeartRadio [music festival] in Vegas. Carey was at a truck race or something. Willow and I were at the pool, and I was taking her to nap time. She was walking just a foot in front of me. And she trips and falls and gets a concussion. She passed out. Cut to an ambulance and fire truck. And a CAT scan. She was about a year old. That was the worst day of my life. And what do they say? “Kids fall.” Welcome to parenthood. I thought, I can’t handle this. I’m fitting her for a bubble.”

On Willow using swear words: “Willow said, “F–kin’ hi,” the other day. I’m like, “F–k!” We’re gonna get a jar. Have to.”

On using the word “slut”: “Oh, yeah. I’m a reformed slut. It’s my very unsophisticated way of taking the power back. I’ve always had an issue with [the idea that]: ‘OK, we’ve both decided to do this. Why am I a slut and you’re the player? You didn’t get anything from me that I didn’t get from you.’ ”

On touring with  98 Degrees & *NSYNC: “It was Beatlemania for those boys. I got in trouble for toilet-papering 98 Degrees’ bus. Joey Fatone was in love with me. He took me to Friendly’s on a date, and he bought me an ice cream. Such a sweetheart. He asked my dad’s permission.”

Don’t know any babies that have had a concussion and passed out just from falling over.
    And Willow swearing?
I used to respect Pink until I read this interview. Now I think she;s an awful mother.

Seriously? My daughter fell down and had a concussion as well…so I guess that makes me an awful mother as well…oh wait, I’ve never heard her use a swear word in her life and she’s 7 years old now. I really like Pink, like someone said here already, not making excuses for not being perfect. She’s human and I love it!
