On her recent appearance on the Late Show With David Letterman – Kate Hudson talked about how different her sons Bing, 22, months and Ryder, 9, are.
The actress explained, “Ryder is laid back…cool, sort of poetic type. Bing is a fireball. Knows what he wants…first word was ball, everything sporty. Bing is the more outgoing type. Ryder is super patient.”
The Reluctant Fundamentalist also added, “[Ryder's] also lovely and funny and not at all presumptuous. He’s a really good person. I’m happy about that.”
The word “mom” is heard a lot during her day.
“I’m in the phase of my life right now where I hear ‘Mom’ all the time. I love it, but you start tuning out 100 ‘Moms’ a day — [you learn to listen] for the right, ‘Mom.’ So I’ll hear, ‘Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom!’ And I’ll turn, ‘Yeah, honey?’ And Bing will just have Ryder by the hair and Ryder will be looking at me going, ‘I just, I don’t know what to do in this situation.’ “
Talking about Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell – she shares, “There’s that thing with families. I just turned 34 and yet, you go into the family dynamic and you’re just … [my] parents have too much control and power over my life, my therapist is on speed dial.”
But they are fun to be with. Hudson states, “There’s nobody I would rather be with and spend time with. My parents know how to party — they’re a blast!”
Asked about marrying Matt Bellamy – she replied, “I look forward to it. We’ll both figure it out. We’ve been both very busy, but it will happen. We will get married. I do think it’s important, but we have no plans. [Ryder] wants a party. For me it’s not the legal part that is important, it’s what it means to the family.”
