Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen took their children Jack, 5, Benjamin, 3, and Vivian, 5 months, to dinner at Blue Ribbon Restaurant in New York City last Sunday (May 5). The football star had to keep the boys in line while heading inside. Poor Benjamin had been teary while mom was carrying him.
In his first interview with EPSN since 2001 – Brady dishes on family life with his model wife.
He reveals that You’ve Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story is constantly stuck in his head. And if he happens to zone out while thinking about football or pecking on his BlackBerry – his wife snaps him back to reality: “Is this a Tommy day or a family day?”
On getting kisses from his kids – he has to ask them. When they say no, Brady replies, “No kisses for Daddy” prompting them to kiss. “Reverse psychology,” he likes to say.
Brady knows when to put his kids first. If he’s late returning calls because he’s playing with his kids, he doesn’t care. If he misses a night out with the guys to watch Toy Story — again — that’s okay.
He also compares his childhood with the one his three little ones have now. For example – when he was growing up he played with other neighborhood kids. His children get to be raised in a gated house in the Los Angeles hills. Also as a young child he roamed the Candlestick Park bleachers. His kids get to sit in a luxury suite. He ponders, “How do you get your kids to understand that this is not the way the rest of the world is?”
The 35-year-old shares, “I feel like I’m 25” and admits he used to love to hit the bars after wins. Now he says he wants to go home, see his kids and crash. “You couldn’t pay me to go out after a game.”
