Ben Affleck’s Honorary Doctorate Confuses Violet

From our friends at BabyCenter.com!

Introducing Dr. Ben Affleck! The man foremost known as an actor and director received an honorary doctorate degree from Brown University on Sunday — though his daughter Violet isn’t entirely sure he has earned it.

Making an impromptu speech after fellow graduates demanded a few words, Ben Affleck told the crowd, “My daughter’s 7. She said, ‘Why are you doing that, Dad? You went to no classes and did no homework.’ Out of the mouths of babes.”

Getting sentimental for a moment, the 40-year-old added, “My mother is here. This means a lot to her. She never got to see me graduate from any higher education at all. So, Mom, this is for you. I love you.”

Violet Affleck has a point, right? Ben Affleck actually has only one semester of college under his belt! Though the 40-year-old was commended for his work as a director, actor, writer, producer and philanthropist, he may have a hard time explaining to his three young kids with wife Jennifer Garner how he skipped straight to graduation while they have homework to do.

This isn’t the first time Violet Affleck has had a ‘kids say the darndest things‘ moment. In 2011, Jennifer Garner shared this story of a bathroom exchange with her eldest:

“You know how once you have kids you never ever pee by yourself again? At least one of them is always in there with you at all times. So the other day… [Violet] is in there with me and all of the sudden she went, ‘Oh Mom, we have to have a talk’… She said, ‘Mom, your bottom has gotten so big that your panties don’t even begin to cover it.’

“I said, ‘It’s called a thong, you wear it when you’re a grown up. She was like, ‘Uh, that is so gross!’”

What have your little ones said lately that had you laughing?
