Katie Holmes & Her Gymnastics Girl

Katie Holmes & Suri Talk A Walk After Suri's Gymnastics Class

Dawson’s Creek alum Katie Holmes and her 7-year-old daughter Suri were seen in New York City on Friday (July 12). Joined by a friend, the pretty pair took a stroll around Chelsea Piers after Suri’s gymnastics class.

The mother-daughter duo appeared in good spirits after their run-in with the paparazzi the day before.

On Thursday, a paparazzo called Suri a “brat” – and a b*tch – as she and her mother headed to their car.

In the shocking video, Suri is seen annoyed by the paparazzi, and says, “Stop it…get out of the way.” At that point, a paprazzo calls her the above names.

I am actually pleased that Suri spoke up to those blocking her passage to the car. She did not call anyone names, just said “Stop.” Do you seriously believe a seven-year-old who is constantly harassed by photographers should just submit to having people block her way?

Apparently, lots and lots of people *do* think that.

(They’re idiots, yes, but they actually do think that)

Whats more frightening is that people expect a little girl to be subservient and allow people to do something to her without standing up for herself. Absolutely she should be applauded for being able to voice her opinions without using nasty words like the photog did. For a 7 year old she was articulate and was convicted and should composure. Its amazing to me that people expect this little girl to want people to take her photo and be around her 24-7 and not have a problem…

What I find odd and a bit unsettling is that my comment in Suri’s defence and which criticized the paps was not published. Do the owners of this site condone this kind of abuse towards children?

It’s not really what she said, but how she said it.

It is pretty awful that an adult can easily call out names to a child so easily, they are the ones hounding her and her mother and then call her a brat? What a sick excuse for a man that photog is. In the first picture, Suri looks so much like her dad. Suri obviously needs a strong backbone considering the quality of people who are following her all the time.

I agree with everyone’s comment but we really aren’t helping with coming to sites like this and commenting.

I think its normal for any child to get either scared or frustrated if strange people were swarming and photographing them all the time. Children don’t have the ability at that age to process what that means or why it is happening. She didnt ask to be put in the position of being a celeb kid. I think she may wind up being spoiled because of the money her parents have, but that in NO way means she is a brat. I think she had a right to say Stop to the paps. At the same time, the paps wouldn’t be in business of taking pictures of celeb kids if there wasn’t a market for it. And by visiting this site and others, none of us are contributing to the demise of the paps anytime soon.
