Pregnant in Heels star Rosie Pope was recently on hand at Destination Maternity‘s newly remodeled store in Paramus, NJ. The posh new store boasts a modern environment with enhanced fitting rooms, a learning studio and relaxation area for family members and friends, and a juice bar and a play area for children.
Rosie opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her must-have maternity items, her three kids –James, 5, Wellington, 2, and Vivienne, 15 months – and her fourth pregnancy.
CBS: What are some of your favorite maternity pieces from Destination Maternity? What are the must-have items for expectant and nursing moms?
RP: “Destination Maternity has an amazing offering of nursing wear and lingerie. Also, I love Button Front Twill Maternity Jacket. A classic trench can upgrade almost any outfit—I throw mine over jeans, leggings or a shift dress for instant chic. It also serves as a great layering piece in the fall and spring.”
- Denim (I prefer under the belly)
- Desk to dinner dress
- Long tanks
- Oversized sweater
- Belly Bandit
- Non-underwire nursing bra
- Nursing Tank
CBS: How are your three kids doing? What are their ages now? What are each of them into these days?
RP: “James just turned 5 and is into anything to do with LEGO and golf. Wellington is 2 and obsessed with trains, and Vivienne is 15 months and really likes diving into my jewelry box!”
CBS: How have you been enjoying having a girl after two boys? Do you notice any differences between raising boys and girls?
RP: “I didn’t realize there would be such a difference and I can’t totally say whether it’s the fact she is a girl or my third baby, but she’s so calm and relaxed and loves to try and wear any of my clothes. Obviously they are massive on her, but she’ll walk around in a T-shirt of mine so proudly as if she’s wearing a ball gown with a bangle on her wrist! Its the cutest thing.”
CBS: How do you juggle your career and family life? Do you use nannies? House cleaners? Cooks?
RP: “LOL, I wish I had a cook! I have one nanny and she is amazing — ironically she’s called Rosie too. She is part of our family now.”
CBS: What was it like transitioning from 2 to 3?
RP: “You know a study recently came out saying that parents of three kids are the most stressed. Honestly, I didn’t find this. I think when you have one it seems like a lot, when you have two it seems like doubly a lot and splitting your time and attention between two children can be difficult. Once you’ve mastered that, having another really didn’t seem so stressful to me. Logistically it’s tricky with classes, school drop offs, naps and so on, but there’s more of them so they have more people to play with too.”
CBS: What’s up next for you? Maybe baby No. 4:? (note: this interview occurred before her recent pregnancy announcement).
RP: “Well….I’m pregnant and launching Rosie Pope Baby (Layette to 2 years old) at the same time. My due date and the date the line is to hit stores and online is virtually the same date in March 2014. I always like to do a lot at once [laughs]! The good news is my baby will have lots of Rosie Pope Baby Clothes at his or her fingertips.”View Slideshow »»
