Céline Dion’s May-December Romance Made Mom Crazy

Celine Dion Holds News Conference After First Show

From our friends at Babycenter!

With their 20th wedding anniversary coming up next year, Celine Dion and René Angélil’s relationship has stood the test of time. The singer admits, though, that their 26-year age difference was a big obstacle to overcome – particularly for her mother! Celine met René in 1980, when he was 38 and she was only 12. Though he started out as her manager, their relationship eventually turned personal.

“So maybe at 17, 18 years old, my feelings started to change for him. I kind of saw him differently. Make a long story short, [my mom] saw it coming too because she’s a mom — mom knows best.”

So, let me get this straight. Her mother and their 26-year age difference was an obstacle, yet HIS BEING A M A R R I E D MAN OF OVER 20 YEARS WASN’T AN OBSTACLE!!!! Mrs. Dion has a strange, one-sided, self-centered way of seeing things …… don’t she? I’ll bet her Mother and HIS (ex) WIFE saw things VERY differently. He was a greedy child molester, who got lucky enough to hook up with a nasal-voiced meal ticket. And not much more.

Shame on you Celine. Though it’s been a while, and you all seem very happy, your story has been NO fairytale for all those involved. You should be woman enough to admit the truth, and show some empathy, regret, respect, and compassion for Renee’s FIRST WIFE who’s life, family, and financial stability YOU and RENEE left in tatters due to your selfish teenage and perverted old man desires.

    Cute boys though.

You really need to check the facts before you comment on anything and offend them with groundless accusations. Rene had been married twice before and had divorced his second wife long before Celine and he got involved and serious. When he divorced in 1980, she was 12 and she clearly states she developed her feelings for him much later. Apparently your weird desire to write/comment on something at all cost clouded your judgment.
