On motherhood: “It’s amazing having my first child. I think any woman will say it’s the biggest joy of her life. It makes it OK to wake up at 5:30 in the morning when you see that little face smiling back at you! He’s becoming more and more of a little person with a personality. You’ve made a person. It’s a huge shift from living an active, spontaneous lifestyle.”
On her upcoming TV series, Trophy Wife: “I first got the script and thought I did not want to play a trophy wife, because it sounded so one-dimensional. But the writing and comedic timing was so great. The scenarios she found herself in were very similar to how I grew up. My mom went through two stepdads, and I have half-siblings and stepsiblings. I know there are really funny, hilarious situations that come about because of that.”
On taking on strong female roles: “I do love female power. We don’t have enough female-driven films where we have strong women, but my biggest genre is comedy, so the characters I’m portraying might not be as much strong women as really funny women. But if I got offers for more roles like Silk Spectre, I’d so go for it.”
