It takes a lot of gumption to revise and revamp yourself professionally, especially if you’re in the throes of (or anticipating) motherhood. Disillusioned with the lack of natural kid-care products on the market for young daughters Honor and Haven, the Fantastic Four actress was inspired to stretch into a new role—entrepreneur! After joining forces with business partner Christopher Gavigan (former CEO of the nonprofit Healthy Child, Healthy World), Jessica launched The Honest Company in 2012. The Honest Life, her 2013 book to support the brand, details her family’s toxin-free living. Of balancing her new gig with her old one along with parenting, we asked Alba how she finds her balance. Her answer: “I haven’t! I try to figure it out on a daily basis. If I have morning meetings, I make sure I give the girls their baths and do story time at night.” We honestly think she’s fantastic!

Her hit song “Rich Girl” describes how she’d dress her kids “wicked”—and Gwen took that promise to another level. She launched L.A.M.B (Love, Angel, Music, Baby), a funky-cool fashion line for grown-ups, followed by two offshoot labels of kid wear, Harajuku Lovers and Harajuku Mini for Target. Now pregnant with her third child with Bush front man Gavin Rossdale, the very busy Gwen told The Telegraph she’d sometimes rather “eat a pizza and pass out” than go to yet another meeting. “To be honest, sometimes I feel completely overwhelmed. It’s too much at once: the fashion, the records, the children, marriage… Everyone seems to be relying on me for something. And I’m not someone who likes to let people down.” Isn’t that how we all feel at times?
