Six months ago, Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer-Calvert was told that her daughter Ali would spend much of her life in a wheelchair. But according to the reality star, her 4-year-old daughter is defying all odds.
“Ali is running,” she shares with In Touch. In fact, her daughter, who was diagnosed with a rare — and incurable — form of muscular dystrophy, seems to be stronger than ever. “She has so much determination,” says the proud mom. “We’re in awe of how she handles adversity.”
Despite the progress, Leah says they’re taking her improvements one day at a time.
“She’s doing so much better than expected. We don’t know what the future holds, but this is proof that we should never give up hope,” she shares.
The hopeful mom adds: “One girl who reached out to me also suffers from muscular dystrophy. It made my hope for Ali so much more realistic.”
