Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie attended a private reception held at Kensington Palace in London where costumes and props from Jolie’s latest movie, Disney’s Maleficent, were being exhibited Thursday (May 8).
Joining them on the blue carpet was their 12-year-old son Maddox.
The 38-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who plays Maleficent in the film, talked about how the role of Aurora was given to her youngest daughter Vivienne in ELLE magazine’s June 2014 issue.
“I asked Shiloh about being Aurora, and she laughed in my face, she said she’d be a horned creature.”
Instead younger sister Vivienne, 5, who has a twin brother, Knox was given the part.
“For young Aurora, they needed a child who wouldn’t be fazed by the Mistress of All Evil hissing, ‘I don’t like children’ in her face,” Jolie told the magazine. “And my little Vivienne — we call her my shadow, because there’s nothing I can do to shake her. I can be tired, I can be grumpy, I can be in a terrible mood, and she doesn’t care. It’s ‘Mommy, Mommy,’ and she’ll cling to me.”
“We knew that she would still do that thing, she’d still smile at me and insist that I pick her up,” she continued. “So we couldn’t really cast anybody else.”View Slideshow »»
