“Well, I’ve never protected the president, but I have been a new dad, and I can tell you that being a new dad is pretty terrifying. I’m pretty sure that something about the president makes the stakes a little higher, but to me as a new father, nothing is more important or scary than protecting a daughter.” – Channing on first time fatherhood.
“She’s standing and … she’s scooching. Something called cruising. She’s awesome — she’s so happy and I love it. My nights in with her are so much fun. I had to tear myself away to come out tonight.” – mama Jenna on her baby girl.
“She’s sleeping now too…You know how you get that first thing of not feeling cool enough for your kid because like you think you’re the coolest thing in the world so far and she’s just like a little baby, she just a little infant? But she actually has better taste in music than I think I do because she will only fall asleep to really good music.” – Channing on his little girl.
“She is obsessed with Drake‘s ‘Hold on, We’re Going Home.’ If I put that on, she will sleep in five seconds. There’s no nursery rhymes, no sweet nursery music to put her down. She is like, ‘No, please. I like the hits.’ I’d like to think that Drake and Prince are pretty badass for a little girl.” – Jenna on her daughter’s musical tastes.
“He’s Mr. Play Fun time Dad. So every time he comes in, he’s singing to her. He holds her and dances around and she’s laughing. She literally lights up when he walks in the room.” – Jenna on her handsome hubby.
“The baby is crying and you’re like, ‘What do I do to make her stop crying?’ and all of a sudden he [Channing] starts beatboxing and she starts cooing. I’m like, ‘What?’ I have been rocking her. I have been swaying her. I’ve been doing squats and he gets here and he’s like ….” – Jenna on her husband’s unique parenting skill.
“Everyone can tell you certain things about motherhood and say it’ll change your life but it’s really a transformative moment that naturally changes everything. For me, everything feels different, everything matters more, every action I take, I think of her first. When I was at that point where I was in sweatpants 24 hours a day, if I got a shower every two days I was lucky, and I was just carrying her and breastfeeding and doing nothing but thinking about this little baby, and I’m still doing that, but now I get to go and be creative.” – Jenna on first time motherhood.
