Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels stepped out with daughter Lukensia, 4, in Malibu, Calif. on Sunday (August 3). Walking hand-in-hand, the mother-daughter duo hit the farmers’ market on the sunny afternoon.
The mother-of-two will not be returning for the 16th season of The Biggest Loser.
“I don’t want fans to think I feel like I’m too big for the show or that I’m seeking greener pastures. I’m so grateful to the show and so sad to leave,” Michaels told People. “(T)here were some fundamental differences (with the show’s producers) that have existed for a while.”
Many speculate that she is leaving because of the controversy with the most recent Biggest Loser winner, 24-year-old Rachel Frederickson, whose 155-pound weight loss left Michaels and her celebrity trainer co-star, Bob Harper, visibly shocked during the final reveal.
But Michaels says she is leaving after she was accused of cheating by allowing her Loser team to take caffeine pills
“In the beginning of the show, it was tough love. You saw the tough, and you saw the love,” she added. But lately, from her perspective, viewers saw “none of the relationships, (and) none of the bonds that I build with my clients.”
In fact, when she picked up her daughter from camp, someone had told Lukensia: “I know who your mom is – she’s a cheater. I saw it on TV.”
Michaels and her partner Heidi Rhoades are also parents to 2-year-old son Phoenix.View Slideshow »»
