‘Tis the season for family fun and gift giving.

With the holidays upon us, Celebrity Baby Scoop has reached out to some of our favorite celebrity moms to hear their Thanksgiving and Christmas plans, favorite family traditions, and must-have items.

From Melissa Joan Hart‘s Christmas plans in Lake Tahoe, to Samantha Harris‘ gratitude for a clean bill of heath, to Beverley Mitchell‘s baby and maternity must-haves, let’s hear how the stars celebrate the season.

  • Melissa Joan Hart:

Melissa & Joey star Melissa Joan Hart and husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, are parents to three sons: Mason, 8, Brady, 6, and Tucker, 2. The Sabrina, the Teenage Witch alum, 38, opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about their Thanksgiving and Christmas plans.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

MJH: “We spend every other Thanksgiving in Alabama with my husband’s family and it’s become a tradition to take the boys to the Iron Bowl game in Tuscaloosa. Alabama vs. Auburn is a huge, century old rivalry and it’s fun to be involved in something so historic and exciting.

CBS: What are your plans this holiday season? Are you staying at home or traveling this year? Are you and your kids getting excited about the down time with family?

MJH: “We will spend Christmas at our home in Lake Tahoe. Last year, we had a black bear come to our door as we were heading to bed on Christmas Eve and we hope that doesn’t happen again [laughs].

It seems that every moment during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day holds some sort of tradition — from making cookies for Santa, to church service, to our family photo in our PJs by the fire. Sometimes it’s OK to let them slide, but usually we are able to incorporate them all.”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

MJH: “I’ve been praying for a peaceful holiday season this year. Every year it seems to get more and more hectic with cards, gift shopping, wrapping, parties and meal planning. But all I really want for Christmas is a quiet day with my loved ones over some yummy food.

The best way for me to find that peace is at church, where we are truly reminded of the meaning of Christmas and the promise of the future.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items during the holiday season? What are some of your most sentimental and favorite gifts that you and your little ones have received?

MJH: “Bottles of wine or candles on hand are always a must for those neighbors and co-workers or hostess gifts that you forgot. I always have a case handy in the event that I missed someone on my list.

My husband is a great gift-giver. He usually surprises me with great clothes and shoes and jewelry. I think for most moms, meaningful jewelry is always welcome. POSH Mommy makes a lovely personalized necklace that keeps your kids close to your hearts.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

MJH: “The boys have a long list already started, but I know that they love standup paddle boarding so maybe Santa will help them along with that new-found activity. And I would never be disappointed with another purse in my closet.”

  • Beverley Mitchell:

7th Heaven star Beverley Mitchell and husband, accountant Michael Cameron, are parents to 20-month-old daughter Kenzie. The actress, 33, who is expecting the couple’s second child, opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about their snowy Christmas plans and their detailed wish lists.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

BM: “We always spend the holidays in Colorado. There is something so magical spending Christmas in the snow and all bundled up. Growing up in California, that is something I never really experienced, so for me it is pretty awesome.

Every Christmas Eve my in laws throw a big holiday party with all our family friends and it is always a blast.”

CBS: What are your plans this holiday season? Are you staying at home or traveling this year? Are you and your kids getting excited about the down time with family?

BM: “We will be in Colorado. I don’t think Kenz quite understands Christmas yet, but I am excited to see how see reacts now.”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

BM: “I absolutely love the holidays and love enjoying the time with family, just staying home, cuddling by the fire and watching movies.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items during the holiday season? What are some of your most sentimental and favorite gifts that you and your little ones have received?

BM: “My must have this season are 7AM Enfant blankets to keep baby girl warm while we are out and about. They also have great warmuffs to keep your hands warm when pushing the stroller. I am also a huge fan of the S’well bottles so I will most likely be giving out a few of those this season, they are seriously the best water bottles!

My favorite gifts to give are scrapbooks. I am a huge fan of Shutterfly and love making personalized gifts.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

BM: “Some of my must have items this season are anything Stella and Dot, Boob designs for maternity clothes, and Bird & Vine.  Some of my favorites for Kenzie are Paige Lauren, Monica and Andy, Skylar Luna, Little Giraffe, Aden + Anais blankets, Apple Park toys, and Splendid Littles, as well as Mabel’s Labels Loot Bag Combo — I do love the personalization.

Some favorites for baby boy are Monica and Andy, Paige and Lauren, Ezra and Eli, 4Moms mamaroo, Aden + Anais, and my new diaper bag by Pacapod.”

  • Courtney Lopez:

Extra host Mario Lopez and wife, Broadway dancer Courtney Lopez, are parents to daughter Gia, 4, and son Dominic, 1. Courtney opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her favorite sentimental gift and a multi-generation holiday family recipe.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

CL: “One of my favorite holiday traditions is having my mom and I make our special homemade manicotti for Christmas — the recipe has been passed down from generation to generation, and it wouldn’t feel like Christmas without it. Now that Gia is old enough, she loves to help, and it’s such a bonding experience to have all of us in the kitchen cooking together. I’m quite sure Nico will be clinging to my leg as we cook [laughs].”

CBS: What are your plans this holiday season? Are you staying at home or traveling this year? Are you and your kids getting excited about the down time with family?

CL: “We are staying home this Christmas, which I’m very excited about. My nieces and nephews will be here, so my kids are going to have a ball as they all love each other so much. The decorations will be extra special this year too. The kids are going to love it.”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

CL:” During the holidays, we are constantly reminding ourselves to slow down and really cherish every moment. We also are teaching Gia that giving back is extremely important, and she seems to be understanding that more and more each year. She gets involved with various charitable causes that we support, including the toy drives during the holidays.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items during the holiday season? What are some of your most sentimental and favorite gifts that you and your little ones have received?

CL: “My must haves are simple — Bath and Body Works candles and Christmas Eve we all wear matching PJs. My most sentimental gifts are from POSH Mommy. I love wearing my children’s initials around my neck, as they are my life.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

CL: “Gia is begging Santa for Frozen Stride Rite boots, which apparently are a hot commodity this year [laughs]. Gia is a little fashionista, and it’s so fun watching her find her own ways of expressing her creativity though her outits.

As for myself, I would like to sleep in — that’s my wish!”

  • Samantha Harris:

Dancing with the Stars alum Samantha Harris and husband Michael Hess have two daughters: Josselyn, 7, and Hillary, 3. The former Entertainment Tonight correspondent, 40, opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about enduring “quite a year” with her breast cancer diagnosis. As such, she admits “there isn’t anything I want but good health for my whole family” this holiday season.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

SH: “I love putting up the decorations, and now our girls are old enough to help. It’s been so sweet and fun putting up the garland up the stairs with the lights wrapped around them.

We celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas — Hanumas. We light the candles each night and the girls get one present, then we do a big gift opening on Christmas morning. They especially love listening for Santa’s sleigh bells the night before.”

CBS: What are your plans this holiday season? Are you staying at home or traveling this year? Are you and your kids getting excited about the down time with family?

SH: “We will be traveling a little with a Mexico getaway (joining my mom-in-law and some friends), then heading to my very chilly hometown in Minnesota for a week with my side of the family. I can’t wait for both! The girls especially love spending quality time with their cousins – my sister’s kids.”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

SH: “There is just a tremendous sense of warmth, love and closeness during the holidays, and I love the extra together time.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items during the holiday season? What are some of your most sentimental and favorite gifts that you and your little ones have received?

SH: “Even in L.A., it starts to get a bit cooler in the evening – so I love cozy boots. The sentimental gifts are really just the sweet homemade items the girls have made us — those are always wonderful to receive and cherish.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

SH: “It’s been quite a year with my breast cancer diagnosis, and so, to be honest, there isn’t anything I want but good health for my whole family. Without that, nothing else matters.

Our girls, of course, have a long list — Barbies, a dog, LEGO and gift certificates to Justice and Target.”

  • Molly Mesnick:

Bachelor couple Jason and Molly Mesnick are set to celebrate the holiday season with kids Ty, 9, and Riley, 20 months. The reality star opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about their favorite family treat and upcoming plans at Disney in the New Year.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

MM: “My favorite part of the holidays is getting the house all ‘dressed up’ with decorations, especially the cinnamon scented candles. My house just smells like the holidays.

Every year, I make salted caramel pretzel bark for our friends, teachers, and babysitters. Of course, Jason makes sure that I save a batch for our own pleasure as well [laughs].”

CBS: What are your plans this holiday season? Are you staying at home or traveling this year?

MM: “We travel to Michigan to spend the holidays with my family every year. Christmas is a huge holiday with my extended family, so we always have 4 days of partying. After Christmas, Jason and I are taking the kids to Disney to ring in the New Year. It will be Riley’s first time there, and I cannot wait to see her freak out over meeting Minnie Mouse.”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

MM: “For us, the holidays are just a great opportunity to unwind and spend time with family. We are always on-the-go, so it allows us to carve out time for ourselves to relax with no commitments to work or other events.”

CBS: What are some of your most sentimental and favorite gifts that you and your little ones have received?

MM: “I love personalized gifts, such as my monogrammed necklace from POSH Mommy. I’ve been thinking about getting my niece an embroidered backpack for school and Riley an embroidered chair for when she watches movies at home. Shhhhh, don’t tell [laughs].”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

MM: “Ty is all about games for his XBox and iPad. Riley is obsessed with all things Frozen and Disney, so surely she’ll be getting some new friends in her stuffed animal collection.

Jason and I actually love to get gift cards, so we can go out on a shopping day together after the holiday craze has ended.”

  • DeAnna Pappas Stagliano:

The Bachelorette star DeAnna Pappas Stagliano and husband Stephen Stagliano are set to celebrate their daughter Addison‘s first Thanksgiving and Christmas. The reality star, 33, opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about how they break up the holidays with their families.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

DPS: “Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and Christmas is Stephen’s favorite. This works out perfectly when splitting the holidays with our families. We always go to Georgia for Thanksgiving and have a big, fat, Greek-fest. All the Pappas’ is one house – it’s awesome! And every year, we play a big championship of Spoons (which is a card game) for the spoon trophy. It is competitive and very serious [laughs].

For Christmas, we spend it with the Staglianos in LA. We all sleep in one room and read Christmas stories together. We are almost all over 30 years old….it’s totally fine [laughs]. The next morning, my father-in-law hangs wrapping paper from the ceiling and we all break through it and run down the stairs. Do you think we have to stop doing this now that we actually have a child? [laughs]”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

DPS: “To me, the holidays mean a time for being thankful and for cherishing your loved ones. We are Christians and believe that Christmas is about so much more than presents under the tree. We try to be diligent about reading Bible verses and praying as well as celebrating these holidays. We have the best family — my own and my in laws. We have a lot to be thankful for, and Stephen and I want to teach Addison how important that is.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items during the holiday season? What are some of your most sentimental and favorite gifts that you and your little ones have received?

DPS: “One year for Christmas, I received a special ring from my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law, exactly like the one they both wear. It made me feel so special, because at that moment I truly felt accepted and loved as a woman joining my husband’s family. The other very special gift that I received was my POSH Mommy bar necklace with Addison’s name engraved on it. I wear it every day with such pride and joy.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

DPS: “I don’t have a big wish list this year. It is Addison’s first Christmas, so I am pretty sure that is all that will matter this year. I’m sure her wish list includes things to chew on, things to climb on, and new Stride Rite shoes since she finally fits into them.”

  • Rosie Pope:

Pregnant in Heels star Rosie Pope and her husband Daron are parents to four kids: sons J.R., 6, Wells, 3, and daughters Vivienne, 2, and Bridget, 8 months. The busy mom-of-four opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her favorite holiday traditions and reflecting on what is important at this time of the year.

CBS: What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Do you have any special recipes or other traditions you do every year with your family?

RP: “The Christmas trail! I leave a trail of mini presents from my kids’ rooms down to the Christmas tree. They get so excited thinking Santa came all the way upstairs and left a trail of presents for them to follow. The squeals of delight makes my year.

As for recipes, I am British so some Christmas pudding is a must with the English penny hidden inside.”

CBS: What are your plans this holiday season? Are you staying at home or traveling this year? Are you and your kids getting excited about the down time with family?

RP: “Staying at home with my husband and the kids. We are so excited to be able to start new traditions and for Bridget to have her first holiday season.”

CBS: What do the holidays mean to you and your family? What are some of the ways that you reflect and regroup during the holiday season?

RP: “They mean family and thanks for each other. They are such a grounding time when we are reminded that the greatest gift is each other. Sometimes I still can’t believe I have this amazing husband and 4 wonderful and healthy children running around our house. The holidays are such a great time to reflect on this and help the kids understand what is really important. It is also a good time to realize how we can help others around us.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items during the holiday season?

RP: “Crackers! Not sure what they are called in America and chocolate advent calendars.”

CBS: What are some of your must-have items on your wish list this season? What are some of the must-have items on your kids’ wish lists this season?

RP: “Blades and the monster trucks, Hanna Anderson organic cotton pajamas and POSH Mommy Jewelry for moms!”
