The Littrells Are Matching Scarf Savvy

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell was seen departing from LAX with his wife Leighanne Wallace and their 6-year-old son, Baylee. The trio wore matching scarves around their necks and Baylee wrapped his around his mouth and nose. Perhaps they are taking precautionary measures in light of the recent swine flu outbreak?

Baylee, who was just diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, has been a topic of discussion following the tragic death of actor John Travolta's son, Jett, who also had the disease.

The Littrells Enjoy A Fun Sunday Afternoon

Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell and his wife Leighanne were photographed with their 6-year-old Son Baylee on a train ride at a Los Angeles market. The trio also enjoyed a bag of popcorn as they strolled around the market on Sunday.

Baylee was just diagnosed A-Typical Kawasaki Disease, an inflammation of the arteries that typically afflicts children. The Littrells recently spoke out about the untimely death of 16-year-old Jett Travolta who also had Kawasaki Disease: “We are so deeply touched for the Travoltas. We thought what we just went through was horrendous enough, so we can’t imagine what they are going through. We want to pass on our condolences, our love and prayers.”

Leighanne Littrell On Baylee's Illness

Brian Littrell's wife, Leighanne, has already told OK! magazine that her 6-year-old son, Baylee, is feeling much better, but she has now opened up about exactly what happened with her son, and she also has some advice for fellow parents. According to Leighanne, Baylee "broke out in a full-body rash" in early December, with "blisters in his throat and a 103-degree fever." After numerous tests and three misdiagnoses, the couple asked doctors to perform an echocardiogram, which showed damage to Baylee's coronary arteries. It was determined that Baylee suffered from atypical Kawasaki disease. He's been released from Atlanta's Scottish Rite Children's Hospital after receiving treatment, and now Brian and Leighanne are reaching out to other parents. "If you feel like something is wrong, follow our instinct," says Leighanne, who talks to OK! about the fight for her son's life. Click below to read the rest!

Baylee Littrell Is 'Feeling Much Better'

This past week has been a tough one for the Littrell family - former Backstreet Boy Brian revealed on his website that his 6-year-old son Baylee was in the hospital awaiting treatment for what was eventually diagnosed as atypical Kawasaki's Syndrome, an inflammation of the arteries around the heart. Add to that having to deal with it in the spotlight, and it doesn't make for an easy experience. "There were a lot of stories going around, a lot of wrong information on what was going on," Brian's wife Leighanne tells OK! in an exclusive interview. "I had heard stories that his heart had hardened or people thought he had cancer, and I just didn’t want it to get so blown up." Click below to read the rest!

Update: Brian Littrell's 6-Year-Old Son Hospitalized

Update: Brian and Leighanne Littrell have updated Brian's website with the condition of their 6-year-old-son, Baylee. We reported on Friday that Baylee was hospitalized and undergoing "treatment." Baylee has now been diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease, an inflammation of the arteries that typically afflicts children. Following is Brian's latest website posting: "On Saturday December 20, 2008, Baylee T W Littrell was released from Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Atlanta. Before being admitted Baylee had been treated for or thought to have had strep throat, hand, foot, mouth disease and erythema multiforme. After receiving a biopsy, blood tests, an EKG and 2 echocardiograms, Baylee was finally diagnosed with A-Typical Kawasaki Disease. We would like to stress A-Typical because Baylee did not have text book symptoms of any of the viruses they thought he had. Kawasaki Disease causes inflammation in the coronary arteries as well as the walls of the small and medium sized arteries throughout the body. Unfortunately, Baylee's coronary arteries were affected. He received an IVIG, which is a treatment to bring down the inflammation in his coronary arteries. Baylee will be closely monitored for the next 6-8 weeks by a Pediatric Cardiologist to see if the treatment was effective. We want to thank every one who prayed for us as well as all of the emails and phone calls. Your love and support means so much to our family. The Hospital Staff were absolutely amazing. They made an extremely difficult time in our lives as comfortable as possible. We are humbled by the love and compassion that people have for our son all over the world, thank you! Brian and Leighanne Littrell" Click below to read the original post regarding Baylee's hospitalization...
