On 14 May 2006, Geri Halliwell gave birth to her daughter, Bluebell Madonna, by caesarean section at London's Portland Hospital with her sister by her side. Explaining her name choice, she said, "What really clinched it for me was my mother telling me that the bluebell is increasingly rare – so it's a precious flower, which seems just right for my daughter." Her daughter's middle name came from two of Halliwell's heroines, the Virgin Madonna and pop singer Madonna.

On 23 April 2007, all of The Spice Girls except Melanie B attended the christening of Halliwell's daughter, with Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and George Michael's partner Kenny Goss serving as godparents.

Sacha Gervasi is reported to be the child's father, but Halliwell has never publicly confirmed that. On 7 March 2006, Hello! magazine published an interview with Halliwell] she says, "It is tacky to kiss and tell, I would never deprive a child of the right to know its father."

Geri Halliwell Is An Author Now

Geri Halliwell Is An Author Now

“Ugenia is definitely a part of me. She’s like my inner brat,” she says.

When asked if it wasn't too hard to write in a way that both adults and kids would understand her story, she answered,

“It was so natural, I am very childlike and silly and I found children relate to my wackiness. I have a language they respond to. I’ve always been driven by books, even self-help ones. As a girl I’d be writing little stories beside this outside toilet at school when I was waiting my turn to go. I’ve got collections of diaries. It was a way of expressing myself.”

Ugenia Lavender is published by Macmillan on Friday, £6.99. The audio book, read by Geri, is available on CD and download, £8.99.

Geri Halliwell takes her daughter Bluebell Madonna, 23 months, shopping for new shoes in North London. Bluebell looks so grown up with her hair pulled back - I've never seen her without her curls. Looks like Geri's mom came along on the shopping trip. 80416y4_halliwell_b_gr_03wtmk.jpg80416y4_halliwell_b_gr_03wtmk.jpg80416y4_halliwell_b_gr_06wtmk.jpg80416y4_halliwell_b_gr_07wtmk.jpg80416y4_halliwell_b_gr_08wtmk.jpg

Geri & Bluebell Are Back In The UK

A much quieter Bluebell and her Mom Geri arrive back at Heathrow Airport in London after a flight from Los Angeles. Remember this funny set from their (kinda) chaotic departure ? Seems like Bluebell enjoyed the ride enough (and probably enjoyed a good night sleep) to stay still in her stroller as the pair prepares to leave the airport and head back home.

Bluebell Is A Brat

As Geri Halliwell prepares to depart from LAX airport with her daughter Bluebell Madonna and her assistant, the little girl seems to have other plans... and tries to escape! Geri has to keep her close by holding her hood, but the toddler howls and runs and turns.... to finally land on the floor. That is quite a funny set of pictures !

Geri Halliwell & A Happy Bluebell At Heathrow

Geri Halliwell & A Happy Bluebell At Heathrow

Geri Halliwell, 35, aka "Ginger Spice" was spotted arriving at Heathrow Airport with daughter Bluebell Madonna, 1 1/2. In the last picture Bluebell seems to be amused with the paps, and gives them a big smile.

I just read that Geri woke a fan from a coma by singing her a few lines from a Spice Girls song. Halliwell went to visit her fan, Jessica, at the hospital after hearing the news that she fell into a coma just two days before she was due to see the Spice Girls in concert. Her mom said:

"Geri sang a couple of lines of one of their songs and Jessica started moving her arms and legs"

Wow, pretty amazing! To read more of the story click here.

Bluebell Halliwell Catches Chickenpox From Cruz Beckham

Geri Halliwell's daughter Bluebell, 18 months, caught chickenpox from Cruz Beckham. Now mom, Geri Halliwell has to leave Bluebell at home while she and the other Spice Girls kick off their world tour in Vancouver on Sunday.

"Bluebell caught chickenpox from Cruz," Halliwell ("Ginger" Spice), 35, revealed Friday morning on the British TV show GMTV. "She's now completely pelted now so I left her at home. Normally they're running around the set."

As Halliwell suggests on the official Spice Girls' blog, the outbreak was inevitable.

Daughter Bluebell, she says, "loves hanging with the Beckham boys. Cruz and Bluebell have play dates, and Romeo – well, he is just gorgeous with her. Actually, it was a beautiful moment when we were rehearsing the other day and all of our kids were playing on the stage at the same time. It made me smile."

As a mom, you automatically want to be with your child when they are sick. I'm sure this will be a difficult weekend for Geri.
