Bonjour Giulia! Hours after giving birth to the newest addition to the First Family, France's First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy took to her official website to announce the name of her newborn daughter with President Nicolas Sarkozy, and thank well-wishers for their support.
"I am deeply touched by the many messages of congratulations that I have received since the birth of our daughter, Giulia," writes Bruni. "On this happy occasion, my husband joins me in expressing our warmest thanks to all those of you who sent us these tokens of your kindness."

"You don't have a child for the [photo] gallery," she says in a new interview, insisting that she and her husband Nicolas Sarkozy will be keeping her baby far away from the media spotlight. Carla adds that her "position as the wife of the head of state has made me even more defensive. I understand the media interest, and I don't see any inconvenience in it for myself or my husband, but when it concerns the children, it's not impossible."
