Denise Richards & Charlie Sheen's Big, Happy Family

Denise Richards & Charlie Sheen's Big, Happy Family

It was only a year ago that the often ugly details of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's divorce were making headlines, but Denise says that she and her ex have now moved on for the sake of their daughters Sam, 5, and Lola, 3.

"Believe it or not, we had dinner together with all of us," Denise, 38, reveals. "So I love that... It's important for our daughters to see us get along and to be able to be in the same room."

Charlie's wife Brooke Mueller, who gave birth to twins Max and Bob in March, also joined in on the family dinner. Though Denise admits that her divorce from Charlie was "very public and it got very nasty," she says that her relationship with Brooke, 31, has always been good.

"Brooke and I have always gotten along, so obviously when we went through what we were all going through it was what it was. But I think she's great with my girls. They love her."

Denise says that life is a lot easier now that she and Charlie, 43, have found a way to get along.

"We've worked very hard to get it to this place, and I'm so grateful for it. I think it's important for, you know... It's a lot less stress, it's a lot less money, that we get along."

Charlie Sheen Leaves His "Crazy" Past Behind

Charlie Sheen Leaves His "Crazy" Past Behind

Six weeks after the birth of their twins Max and Bob, Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller report that family life is great. In Touch features an interview with the proud parents, who talk about marriage, motherhood and why the boys have already made Charlie a "better man."

On how the boys have changed Charlie:
Charlie: "They’ve made me a better man. People think when they get married it will solve selfishness and be about the other person, but really that doesn’t happen until you have children."
Brooke: "I do see him being a better man now that the boys are here. He’s totally involved. I was a little worried I’d be the one doing most of the work, but I was wrong."

On Brooke's adjustment to motherhood:
Charlie:" She’s unbelievable. She’s so great, caring, focused, compassionate, loving and selfless and eager to be involved and to learn. Her mom instincts are all there. I knew when she was just my girlfriend how great she was with Sam and Lola. So, I’m not surprised she was amazing from day one. We are a perfect match."

On moving beyond his wild past:
Charlie: "There are certain days I wake up and I’m waiting for someone to show up and say, 'This is not your life, this is not the life you deserve.' I’m giddy at times because it’s not fair. I’ve had two lives — the crazy one and the stable one. I don’t need to do the crazy one anymore. I did it, I survived and now I focus on things that matter."

On their marriage:
Brooke: "It’s so wonderful. We’re best friends. We hang out 24 hours a day together. There’s a connection, and it works. It’s hysterical to me that he has this reputation. He’s such a family man. Charlie will still be the brunt of all jokes when it comes to hookers, but I’m not worried. It’s out of his system."

Charlie Sheen Says Twins Are Doing Great

Charlie Sheen Says Twins Are Doing Great

Charlie Sheen is happy to report that all is well with 1-month-old twins Max and Bob.

Though Max had to remain at the hospital for a few weeks due to concerns about his low birth weight, he's now back at home with the rest of the family.

"He's great. Everybody's great. Everybody's home," Charlie, 43 says.

The tired dad admits that he and his wife Brooke Mueller aren't getting much sleep with two newborns in the house, but adds, "we're not going to get any sympathy from any new parents!"

The couple did manage to get away to Las Vegas this past weekend for the opening of "Peepshow," starring Spice Girl Melanie Brown.

Like many new moms, Brooke, 31, said she had a hard time leaving the boys at home overnight, saying, "It's the first time we’ve been away from them for an hour, let alone a night! I’m struggling more than [Charlie] is."

Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller's Son Remains In Hosptial

A rep for the couple has spoken out about the questions surrounding his stay, "Charlie and Brooke's infant son Max remains in the hospital, not because of a heart condition as reported, but because he has not gained the weight necessary to leave the hospital. Max is expected to reach the weight requirement shortly and will join his brother at home. The Sheens appreciate the outpouring of concern, but have assured everyone that both Bob and Max are fine."

Sheen himself has tried to make light of the media attention and false reports, saying, "The weight issue is very common among infants who were born before reaching full term, I know a lot of people are not fond of hospital food; I just didn't realize that they started so young."

The twins are the first children together for the couple, joining Sheen's three daughters from previous relationships, Cassandra, 23, Sam, 4, and Lola 3.

"We have favorites already," Brooke tells Extra, later adding, "But they're fake favorites. They're not real favorites."

She says that she and Charlie have already noticed big differences in the 1-week-old twins' personalities.

"Max [is my favorite]. Max is sweet and quiet," Brooke shares. "And Bob is kind of loud and cries a lot like his father."

Brooke may be a first time mom, but Max and Bob are the fourth and fifth kids for Charlie. The proud dad says of the new additions to the family: "We're thrilled. Everyone's doing great. Bob's great. Max is great. Mom is great obviously, look at her."

The Two and Half Men star adds a special message to his fans: "Thank you for the outpouring of love and support and well wishes. We really appreciate it. It's an exciting time for us. Be careful what you wish for. Here we are...."

"With twins," says Brooke.

Charlie Sheen On Welcoming Twin Boys: "It's Pretty Amazing"

Charlie Sheen On Welcoming Twin Boys: "It's Pretty Amazing"

Although they're not identical, Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's newborn fraternal twin boys are still managing to fool their dad.

"I can't tell! They're not identical, but at this stage they're similar enough." Sheen, 43, told Entertainment Tonight from the set of Two and a Half Men just days after wife Brooke Mueller Sheen, 31, delivered twin sons Max and Bob. Charlie said he likes short and sweet names: "[Their names] are very short and simple – easy to spell and remember," Sheen said. "Bob is the same frontward and backward. I'm a fan of a short and simple name. Max was literally Nick until about a minute before he came out."

Charlie went on to say that life at their LA home is tiring yet phenomenal. "It's pretty amazing. Not a whole lot of sleep, but what parent does at this stage? There's adrenaline, excitement, fear."

And big sisters Lola, 3, and Sam, 5, Sheen's daughters with ex Denise Richards, are super excited as well: "[They're] thrilled," he said, "but insisting that they're named Bob and Duke. It's not Max, it's Duke."

Charlie now has five children. Sheen and ex-girlfriend Paula Profit have a 24-year-old daughter, Cassandra Jade Estevez.
