Meg Ryan and a friend were seen picking up her 4 1/2-year-old daughter Daisy from school in Santa Monica, Calif. on Friday (October 16). Meg is also mom to 17-year-old son Jack with ex-husband Dennis Quaid.

The 47-year-old Sleepless in Seattle star has a new lead role in Serious Moonlight, opposite Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell, and Justin Long. The film, due to hit theaters in December, is equally notable for its writer and director. The late Adrienne Shelly penned the script, and Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Cheryl Hines receives her first directing credit.

The 47-year-old actress has been busy working. Her next flick, Serious Moonlight, is a comedy, directed by Cheryl Hines.

Meg plays a high-powered attorney who discovers that her husband is leaving her for another woman. Things get even more complicated when burglars break in to the couple’s home.

Meg Ryan was photographed with her adorable 4-year-old daughter Daisy True in Brentwood on Saturday. The mother-daughter duo were spotted shopping at the popular children's store, Toy Crazy.

The 47-year-old When Harry Met Sally star described her deep connection with Daisy True. "As mysterious and magical as it is to have a baby you gave birth to, I have that exact same thing with Daisy. I feel like we made some agreement, long ago and far away, to meet in the way we did."

Meg is also mom to 17-year-old Jack Henry, whom she had with ex-husband Dennis Quaid.

Ryan, 47, described the day she adopted Daisy in China. Meg says that she waited in a restaurant above the conference room where Daisy had been “crying and crying for an hour and a half” before the the officials came to get her. However, when Daisy was placed in Meg’s arms, “Daisy stopped crying. I’m not kidding you. She checked me out and then she went to sleep. The next six to eight hours, she’d wake up and be very afraid and then she’d cry and then relax and play with you. I’d do the same thing. Just get really afraid, then really expanded. It was this metaphysical kind of labor, this crazy meeting.”
