David Beckham Wants To Raise Sons In LA

David Beckham Wants To Raise Sons In LA

A-list parents may often complain about how difficult it is to give their kids a somewhat normal childhood in Hollywood, but David Beckham thinks that his boys Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 7, and Cruz, 4, enjoy far more freedom and anonymity in LA than they ever did in England.

Saying that he hopes to raise his sons in LA, the footballer explains, “LA is amazing for what Victoria and I want, for our children to have the most normal upbringing. The other kids know who they are, but it’s not like in other schools, where kids are taking pictures and asking for autographs.”

David and his wife Victoria Beckham moved their family to the US after he signed on to play for the LA Galaxy in 2007. Though he'll be returning overseas in the new year temporarily to play in Italy, Posh and the boys reportedly plan to stay in LA.

"[Victoria] has no plans to move," a source reveals. "All three boys are now at the same school and very happy and settled so it would be too much upheaval for just a few months.”

Ice Cream Time For The Beckham Boys

Ice Cream Time For The Beckham Boys

David Beckham took his three sons - Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 7, and Cruz, 4 - out to an ice cream shop in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (November 17).

The 34-year-old footballer was noticeably distressed as he limped with what looks to be a walking cast on his right foot. His injury comes just days before his biggest match as a member of the Galaxy, who will fight for the MLS Cup this Sunday afternoon in Seattle.

We wish you a speedy recovery, Becks!

David Beckham: My Greatest Achievement Is My Family

David Beckham: My Greatest Achievement Is My Family

Football star David Beckham is back on the field with the L.A. Galaxy this summer. The sexy father of three answered some of his fans questions for People.com. The 34-year-old athlete and model opened up about his wife Victoria, their brood of boys, his plans after soccer and his secret passion for cleanliness and housework.

On his greatest achievement: "In my career there's many things I've won, and many things I've achieved, but for me my greatest achievement is my children and my family. It's about being a good father, a good husband, just being connected to family as much as possible."

On how they came up with their children's names: "With Brooklyn, we found out when we were in New York that Victoria was pregnant with him, so that's where his name comes from. Romeo comes from [the fact] that we're a very romantic couple. When we first met Tom Cruise – actually quite a few years ago – I said 'Isn't Cruise a really nice name?' And Cruz came from that. Tom was one of the first people we phoned when Cruz was born and told him."

On a typical Sunday morning in the Beckham household: "We get up and have breakfast in the mornings and then the kids go to soccer practice. Then we come home and have a traditional Sunday lunch of roast beef, roast potatoes, vegetables and gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Then the boys either have a swim in the pool or we take them to the beach if we're in L.A., then in the evening we watch a family film together."
