Denise Richards' Rules For Extracurricular Activities

There are lots of benefits to having your child involved in extracurricular activities, but for Denise Richards, there are rules when it comes to deciding on activities for daughters Sam, 7, Lola, 6, and eventually, baby Eloise.
"At all times my girls must be involved in two activities -- one physical and one creative," Richards writes in her blog. "Once they choose their activities, they have to stick with them until the end of the season or session they signed up for. If they decide they don't like them after that, they can choose another for the next time."

After a few ups and downs over the years, it seems Denise Richards and her ex Charlie Sheen have managed to find a way to successfully co-parent their girls Sam and Lola - and have become better friends in the process.
"It's our 'Modern Family,' I suppose," Denise tells Access Hollywood, adding, "We've actually become like brother and sister, we really have. We've become very, very good friends.... When we all spend time together, it's great for the kids and for us too. We actually get along."

While smoking a cigarette, troubled actor Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Denise Richards were seen departing from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Monday (January 16) after a weekend getaway with their daughters Sam, 7, and Lola, 6. Denise's adopted daughter Eloise, 7 months, was also with the group.
The single mom-of-three - who recently launched her haircare line - opened up to Celebrity Baby Scoop last week about vacationing with Charlie over the Christmas holidays. "I had an amazing vacation with Charlie and our girls," Denise told us. "It was a good trip for them for the holidays."

Denise Richards On Losing Her Mother To Kidney Cancer

Denise Richards is well known for her high-profile divorce from Hollywood bad boy Charlie Sheen. But the 40-year-old single mom-of-three says her biggest heartbreak was the death of her mother Joni to kidney cancer. "We never gave up hope," Denise tells Living With Cancer's latest edition. The actress/author opens up about her mother's battle with cancer, how she tells her daughters "stories to keep [grandma's] memory alive," and her ex-boyfriend Richie Sambora who helped her through that difficult time.
On raising her daughters without her mother: "Eloise [6 months] is the first grand-baby who didn't get to meet my mom," Denise shares. "My mom had helped me with both of my older girls [Sam, 7, and Lola, 6, her daughters with Charlie]. She was at the hospital [when they were born], and she stayed with us for a while. There are many conversations I would have loved to have with her."

During their trip Sam and Lola had their hair braided.
