Portia de Rossi Talks Baby Bumps

Newlywed Portia de Rossi tells the LA Times: "How this IVF rumor started, I really, really have no idea. But I can tell you that it is definitely not happening in the near future ."

Not that she and Ellen DeGeneres, 51, have ruled it out entirely. The Arrested Development star definitely seems open to the idea of motherhood.

"Believe me, I think motherhood would be amazing and exciting and wonderful," she says. "But it isn't really something that's on the immediate horizon for us."

Far from being bothered by the constant baby speculation, Portia, 36, says she thinks it is a good sign. "It's great that Ellen and I are a gay couple and people are open-minded enough to talk about us having a family."

She does have one concern, though: "I just don't want those horrible pictures in magazines where they circle your stomach and point and go 'baby bump!' "

Portia makes her return to the small screen as her new series Better Off Ted premieres on ABC tonight!

Ellen DeGeneres Is Thinking Babies - But Not Now!

Dec 5, 2008 by NICOLE

Ellen DeGeneres spoke to AOL TV about the possiblity of having kids, saying that all the commercials she sees lately makes her think about them!

"When I see those print ads that have the babies in them for Gap, maybe that's cute that you have a little Gap knit sweater on the head, little Gap outfit," she tells AOL TV. "They advertise kids very well, those Gap ads. I don't even look at the clothes -- I just go, 'That's a cute baby, I'll take that one.' "

Still, she said, for her and wife Portia di Rossi, kids are not coming anytime soon.

"I think that is one of the things about not being able to just accidentally get pregnant and have a child," she explains. "You really, really have to want one, whether it's trying to figure out how you get pregnant or if you adopt. I think that's even more of a reason that people that aren't able to have kids should be allowed to adopt because you have to really want a kid, and that's a big responsibility," she says. "So we are not taking it lightly. We would really think about it before we did it."

Ellen's Favorite Baby Name: "Jumbo Shrimp Is Good"

Not only did Ellen DeGeneres and new wife Portia meet up with Gavin Rossdale and his 2-year-old, Kingston, as the two played on the beach on August 31, she also got to spend some time with newborn Zuma, too - and some maternal instincts made themselves known.

"I was holding Zuma this weekend. And all I kept doing was [singing] 'All I want to do is a Zuma Zuma zoom and shake your rump."

That's not to say that Ellen hasn't thought about kids before, though.

"We've thought of names, ironically ... Jumbo Shrimp is good," the talk show host tells Extra.

And, if they don't end up having biological kids, Ellen wants to adopt - and she's already got her eye on three candidates.

"I would adopt the Jonas Brothers," she quipped. "They really are good kids. They appreciate everything still."

The new season of Ellen debuts Monday with Michelle Obama as her guest.

Ellen & Portia's Children Plans

Ellen & Portia's Children Plans

Our recent daily poll states that 73% of us think Ellen and Portia will welcome children into their lives. With their weekend nuptials now behind them, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are contemplating the prospect of having children,

"We go back and forth," de Rossi, 35, recently told People. "I don't know if it's our immediate future. It's something we talk about every few months." Ellen, 50, added, "It's something we would never take lightly and just say, 'That would be fun.' It's a lot of work and we recognize that. In a way, we want to be selfish because we love our life, but we know how much that adds to it." Ellen, in her usual comedic fashion, added, "If they would be as pretty as Brad and Angelina's kids, we might."
