Celebrity Moms Hit The ALMAs Red Carpet
Celebrity moms stole the show on the red carpet at last night's ALMA Awards in Westwood, CA.
Salma Hayek looked gorgeous in a short dress with beautiful back detailing at the event, which was hosted by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.
Salma, whose daughter Valentina Paloma turns 2 next week, was honored with the Anthony Quinn Award for Industry Excellence.
"I feel very proud and moved to get this award because it's from my people, it's from the Latin people," she said.
Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado, who performed at the show, CSI star Eva LaRue and model Talisa Soto, who has kids Sophia and Mateo with actor Benjamin Bratt, were also well-deserving of the spotlight in their glamorous gowns.

Eva's Terrifying Moment
CSI: Miami's Eva LaRue almost didn't get the part. Eva missed her first audition for her role as Natalia Boa Vista because she was saving her daughter Kaya from drowning. Now 6 1/2, Kaya McKenna was playing with Lola Consuelos, daughter of Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos at their home in the Hamptons. Eva reports that the girls were playing in the little pond part, not quite the ocean. Eva recalls the details of this terrifying incident:
"Kaya had stepped off an underwater ledge and was literally drowning like 50 yards away from us. Lola was standing on the ledge, and standing knee deep in the water. We couldn’t figure out, we were like, maybe Kaya’s swimming. We stood there and watched her, for the longest time, not realizing that she’s drowning. Then we both realized at the same time, Kelly and I are running stripping through the water. Kelly got to her before I did and pulled her out of the water, so I didn’t end up going to the audition. I was like, forget it, I’m not going, I’m too traumatized, like oh my god, my kid almost died while I sat there and watched her. So I didn’t go."
We're so glad to hear Kaya is doing well. We hope to never experience anything like this!
