Despite getting an early start herself, appearing on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Swiss Family Robinson and The Bionic Woman, actress Helen Hunt has no desire for her daughter Makena Lei to enter show business at a young age.

“Oh gosh, no! I can’t look at it that way,” replied Helen when asked about her daughter’s acting ambitions. “She’s 6, and I was older than that at least.”

Here's a mom-and-daughter duo we don't see too often: Helen Hunt and 5 1/2-year-old Makena Lei. The beautiful pair, along with dad Matthew Carnahan, were spotted on their way to a doctor's office in Santa Monica, California on Sunday (January 31).

THe 46-year-old actress currently has a couple of projects in the works, including Aline & Wolfe, based on the life of American writer Thomas Wolfe.

Helen Hunt and her 5-year-old daughter Makena were spotted out and about in Brentwood, CA today. The mother-daughter duo made a pretty pair, with Makena looking summery in a very cute floral dress.

After taking some time off of work, Helen will soon be back on the big screen in Every Day. The 46-year-old Oscar-winner will be starring alongside another of our favorite famous parents, Leiv Schreiber.

Makena’s dad is writer and producer Matthew Carnahan.
