Jamie Lee Curtis: Drug Recovery And Motherhood "Greatest Things In My Life"

Jamie Lee Curtis opened up to Meredith Vieira on the The Today Show about her past painkiller addiction.
The actress admitted she became dependent on prescription medicine when she was 35 following cosmetic surgery on her eyes. She also said she used to drink to battle her loneliness and turned to plastic surgery when her body started to change shape as she grew older.
Now 10 years sober, the 51-year-old star is proud. She said, "My recovery is the single greatest accomplishment of my life. And without that, the rest of my life would have fallen apart."
Recovery and motherhood are the two single greatest things in my life," she added.
Curtis has two adopted children, Anne, 24, and Thomas, 15, with her husband Christopher Guest. She is the author of nine children's books. The latest title is My Mommy Hung The Moon.

Gorgeous group! Jamie Lee Curtis and her two children - Annie, 23, who just graduated from college this year and Thomas, 13 - were pictured at the Los Angeles premiere of Avatar on Wednesday (December 16).
The kids' father is Jamie's husband, actor Christopher Guest (Lord Haden-Guest). As the wife of a lord, Jamie is titled Lady Haden-Guest, but she chooses not to use the title when in the United States. The couple are about to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary later this month.
