Just three months after giving birth to her son Kase Townes, the singer-songwriter showed off her svelte postpartum body in a bright yellow dress in New York City on Wednesday (October 12). The 37-year-old Grammy winner appeared on NBC's Today Show to promote her new children's music album The Merry Goes 'Round.

With her son Kase set to hit the 3-month mark next week, new mom Jewel says she is loving these early days of motherhood. In an interview with Scholastic Parent & Child, the soulful singer chats about sleep deprivation, letting go, and her biggest "aha!" moment so far.
On motherhood: "I love life as a new mom. I’ve got something new to learn every day. It’s funny, even though you carry your baby all those months, you’re still strangers when he arrives. I’m very sleep deprived, but my whole career prepared me well for life as a new mom."

Jewel and Ty Murray welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Kase Townes Murray, five-weeks ago. Like all proud parents, the country singer and her retired pro-bull rider husband can't wait to see what their son grows up to be. But this is one instance where they're hoping little Kase doesn't follow in dad's footsteps!
“We want him to find his passion. Whatever that is, we are fine with it,” Jewel says. “But I hope it isn’t bull-riding.”

Congratulations to Jewel and her husband Ty Murray! Their rep confirmed to People that the singer gave birth to a boy on Monday evening (July 11) at 7 p.m. CST in Texas.
The couple have named the baby Kase Townes Murray. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz.

Singer-songwriter Jewel, 37, is getting ready to welcome her first child with rodeo star hubby Ty Murray any day now. When she was 30 weeks along, the mom-to-be sat down with Fit Pregnancy and discussed her first pregnancy, weight gain/loss and alternative health options.
On her pregnancy: "I’m feeling really great and enjoying pregnancy much more than I thought I would. I didn’t know what to expect, every woman is different and you hear such horror stories. But I also heard that you should try to enjoy it, so I took that to heart and tried not to fret about weight gain or anything else. Pregnancy is a privilege, and I feel lucky that I get to do it. It’s kind of sad that men don’t."

The expectant singer wanted to make a difference in her home state of Texas by supporting new moms in their breastfeeding efforts.

Jewel: This Pregnancy Is "Great Timing"

Jewel is getting ready to give birth in July, and the singer-songwriter says that after initially wanting to start a family right after marrying in 2008, she and husband Ty Murray are glad they waited.
"We feel like it's great timing, even though we're a little older," she said. "We were both real careful and kind of cautious about it. I think it sort of scared both of us."

With the big day coming up quick, mom-to-be Jewel tells USA Today that she and her husband Ty Murray are "really excited" to meet their bundle of joy.
The singer says that the experience of being pregnant, in part, inspired her new album album of children's songs, The Merry Goes Round: "It's neat that my son got to hear me writing and recording and singing an album my whole pregnancy, and he'll get to hear it when he's out of my tummy."
