Christina Aguilera chewed on gum as she did some shopping with her color coordinated son, 1 1/2-year-old Max, and hubby Jordan Bratman at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills on Saturday (October 17).

The Beautiful singer recently revealed that she turned to music to escape the fear she felt growing up with an abusive father.

I witnessed a lot of unpleasant things - a lot of pushing and shoving and fighting and quarrelling. Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from."

The 28-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer is the new spokesperson for the annual World Hunger Relief campaign:

As a mom, I can’t accept that even one child could go hungry or that a child dies every six seconds from hunger. That’s why I’m so passionate about this cause," says the songstress who recently traveled to Guatemala, where she witnessed the problem firsthand. "World Hunger Relief makes a huge difference by providing relief for millions of hungry people, especially schoolchildren in developing countries. I hope by lending my voice to this cause I can raise awareness and move millions of people and children from hunger to hope."

Max Liron got a smooch from his adoring mom Christina Aguilera as the pair, along with dad Jordan Bratman, stopped in at kids' clothing store La La Ling in Los Feliz, CA yesterday.

The Beautiful singer and her 17-month-old tot looked too cute in matching shades as they left the store. Looks like little Max is also sporting a bit of a black eye - ouch!

Earlier this year Christina was praised by her fellow famous mom Nicole Richie, whose daughter Harlow is just one day older than Max: "She's a great wife, great mom and great singer. She does it all. And I'm sure Max gets better lullabies than Harlow!"

Christina recently said that she has gone to Nicole Richie for some great mommy tips: “I didn’t know much about Nicole, but because our little ones are born one day apart and through mutual friends I’ve had the opportunity of getting to know her and I was blown away with how great of a mom she is.”

Christina Aguilera seemed relaxed and eager to talk about life with her 6-month-old son, Max, and her husband of nearly 3 years, music exec Jordan Bratman in the recent issue of Glamour Magazine. The 27-year-old popstar opens up about how Max has changed her life and brought a deeper sense of meaning to her, and her music. On her new album: "I just started recording it, but I can tell you that this record is all about fun. I'll be referencing Pop Art, Andy Warhol's art. So it will [sound] fun and fast-paced, and visually, it will be full of color, which is how it's going to tie in with my new fragrance, Inspire [in stores next month]." On how Max has influenced her music: "Absolutely--my little boy breathes new life into me. That's one of the reasons I decided to go in a playful direction with this album. I've spoken openly about the domestic violence I experienced growing up." On her passion to raise awareness of domestic violence and child abuse: "Yes--even watching the news when you hear about babies being shaken. Of course you have compassion for children, but when you have your own, you feel it on a much deeper level. So I'm motivated to speak out even more; to do more charity work; to help children find [safe] homes." christina_aguilera-3.jpgchristina_aguilera-4.jpgchristina_aguilera-5.jpg
