Katie Holmes was photographed bottle-feeding her 3 1/2-year-old daughter Suri on the New York set of her new movie, The Romantics on Wednesday (November 4).
Should a 3 1/2-year-old be hitting the bottle? According to Us, an expert says no.
She should have been weaned off the bottle by the time she was one year old," Dr. Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of Food Fights, tells Us. "By the time kids are nine months old, they have the physical development and mouth coordination necessary to be able to drink out of a sippy cup or a cup with straw. That development comes pretty early."
On the other hand, Dr. Harvey Karp - a pediatrician, child development specialist and creator of the DVD and book, The Happiest Toddler on the Block - doesn't think it's such a big deal.
Sucking is normal for kids when they are tired or bored -- as long as kids aren't keeping the bottle in their mouths for hours" he tells Us, adding that it may be an emotional security device. "Thumb-sucking is more damaging."
But Shu stands strong and says that if Suri is using the bottle out of comfort, her parents should "transition her to a different security object that doesn't cause cavities," such as a blanket or a stuffed animal. Or in Suri's case, perhaps some heels?

After hitting the costume store, it looks like Suri Cruise picked out a princess dress for Halloween this year. Mom Katie Holmes and her 3-year-old mini-fashionista were then spotted shopping at a fabric store in Boston on Monday (October 26).
Papa Tom Cruise has spoken about Suri's wardrobe choices.
It’s very flattering that people want to copy Suri’s clothes and the way she dresses. It does feel strange but you have to kind of go 'it is what it is.'" Tom added that Suri is definitely a "girlie girl" who much prefers a party dress over a pair of blue jeans: "We put the pants on and walk away and the pants are off and the dress is on."
Amidst the wardrobe changes yesterday, there's one thing Suri didn't change - those heels!

Katie recently revealed that she gets wardrobe advice from both her daughter and her husband. Of Tom she said, "He usually likes everything, but sometimes I'll walk out and he'll say, 'I think that dress might be wearing you. You don't need that. Tom has great taste."

Sources close to the Cruise-Holmes household revealed that girly-girl Suri "hates jeans" and prefers dresses (with heels!) from labels like Juicy Couture and Polka. "Suri makes the rules and Tom and Katie go along with it," the source says.
Another source adds, "She is not a spoiled brat, but she is the center of their universe."

Sources state that Katie wants Suri raised in Catholicism: "Katie has been listening to her parents who are devout Catholics." The sources add, "She is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic - as she was."
Suri Cruise Gets Her Coffee To Go
Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and their 3-year-old daughter Suri were spotted getting a coffee to go in Boston, Massachusetts on Sunday (October 11). Suri was spotted wearing a pink dress and heels while carrying her coffee cup like a little lady. Along their travels, Katie held Suri and wrapped her in a blanket to keep the tot warm.
We've seen the Homes-Cruises (and those heels!) all over Beantown as Tom films his upcoming action flick, Wichita, costarring Cameron Diaz.

Cutie pie Suri Cruise seemed to have a blast playing with her parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes during a trip to the park in Cambridge, Massachusetts today (October 10).
The 3-year-old played a game of chase with her movie star mom and dad and then headed down to the banks of the river to explore. Looks like a fun day!

Tom is also dad to son Connor, 14, and daughter Isabella, 16, from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman.
