Leonardo DiCaprio Wants To Be A Daddy – Someday!

Inception star Leonardo DiCaprio has his sights set on fatherhood - but not in the near future.

“Do I want to be a father? Yes, but I think I have a few more years,” explains the 35-year-old actor. “That said, I don’t think I need to have children to play a father in the movies. This feeling is in me, I understand it completely.”

“In my private life, I still have time to become a dad, and I’ve no desire to rush,” he adds.

The Shutter Island actor, whose relationship with Israeli model Bar Refaeli has been kept relatively discreet – despite unconfirmed rumours that they plan to wed in the fall – says he prefers his publicity to be concerned only with his professional life:

I want to be an actor just like my role models. Robert De Niro, for example. Being discreet in his private life has allowed him to be even more credible in different roles on the big screen.

In February, Leo told Germany’s OK! magazine: “I’m not that old, my biological clock isn’t ticking yet. like to leave it to fate if and when I’m going to be a father. A part of me has too many professional plans to even seriously consider it. When I see the children in my family though, the idea of having children doesn’t seem too far-fetched.”

Leo and Bar have been linked since 2005.

Leonardo DiCaprio: "My Biological Clock Isn’t Ticking Yet"

A-list actor Leonardo DiCaprio is too focused on his career at the moment to consider starting a family - though he says he can see himself with kids one day.

“I’m not that old, my biological clock isn’t ticking yet," the Blood Diamond star tells Germany's OK! magazine. "I’d like to leave it to fate if and when I’m going to be a father. A part of me has too many professional plans to even seriously consider it. When I see the children in my family though, the idea of having children doesn’t seem too far-fetched.”

Leo, who is close friends with dad-of-two Tobey Maguire and his family, admits that his choice of profession requires some sacrifice.

"In this business nothing is as dangerous and as feared as loneliness. You shoot films in the most remote areas of the world; you’re separated from your family and your friends. And at some point you’re in your hotel room looking at yourself in the mirror and you realize how lonely you are and how far you are from leading a normal life. That is quite a punch in the gut.”

Next up for the busy actor is the Martin Scorsese-directed flick Shutter Island, which hits theaters on February 19.

Leonardo DiCaprio Babysits Ruby Maguire

Jan 7, 2009 by NICOLE

Not only does the dapper Academy Award-nominated actor give Ruby Maguire a lift now and again, Leonardo DiCaprio also babysits the adorable 2-year-old.

On December 21 Leonardo entertained his best friend's daughter while Tobey and his wife, Jennifer Meyer, did some holiday shopping. "Ruby loves her Uncle Leo, and the feeling is mutual," an insider tells In Touch Weekly, who notes that even though Tobey and Jen have a nanny, they love having Leo spend time with their daughter when he can. "He reads her books, they play games and he makes her carrot snacks."

Leo, despite his playboy reputation, has stated he wants kids one day,

"Every friend of mine who has children says the same thing — it's the greatest thing in the world," Leo, 34, says. "So it's something I'm looking forward to."

Tobey and Jen are expecting their second child this summer.
