Michelle Williams was photographed walking her 4-year-old daughter Matilda to school in Brooklyn, New York on Friday (October 30). Matilda scooted alongside mom and a friend. We've seen lots of great shots of this adorable mother-daughter duo now that they've returned to New York.

Michelle recently reflected on making Brokeback Mountain with Matilda's late father, Heath Ledger:

Early birthday wishes to Matilda, who turns 4 tomorrow! The preschooler's grandfather Kim Ledger talked to Australian newspaper Perth Now this week about the milestone:

"Unfortunately, we won't be seeing her (for her birthday), but we will be seeing her at Christmas. We will be speaking to her for her birthday and all that sort of stuff," he said, adding, "She's beautiful. Yes, she is (looking more like Heath). Of course she is.''

The 29-year-old Oscar-nominated actress recently reflected on the loss of Matilda's father, her ex-fiancé Heath Ledger.

I just don't see the upside to this. You console yourself by saying it's all a deepening process. But it's weird. After the first year, the pain is less intense; it's less immediate.
