Matt Damon: I Want My Girls To Be Political

Matt Damon attended the premiere for his History Channel documentary The People Speak on Thursday (November 18) in New York City. The busy father of three chatted with OK! on the red carpet about his hopes for his daughters, their Thanksgiving plans and if his girls have had play dates with Violet and Seraphina Affleck.
The 39-year-old Cambridge native talked about his new documentary and how he hopes to teach his girls to be politically active.
“The tagline is that ‘Democracy is not a spectator sport,’” Matt says. “That’s what I would want, more than anything, my kids to take away. This country is about participation, activism, understanding the history of the country, understanding your place in that history, being involved and being a productive part of the American experience.”
Matt Damon & His Gorgeous Girls

Gorgeous girls! Matt Damon and his wife Luciana Barroso were spotted with their two daughters - Isabella, 3, and Gia, 14 months - along with Luciana's 11-year-old daughter Alexia walking to the set of Matt's latest film, The Adjustment Bureau in New York City on Sunday (October 25).
The 39-year-old Bourne Ultimatum hunk recently talked about setting a good example for his children.
I try to keep my trips short because my kids are so young that my wife, Lucy, can’t come. We don’t like to be separated, but we both feel it’s so important to learn about these things. In the future, I know these trips are something we’ll do as a family.... I can’t think of any more important value to instill in our children than the desire to help others. I feel strongly about setting an example for them."
Matt Damon's Sleeping Beauty

Oscar-winner Matt Damon was spotted back in his hometown of Boston today (October 22). The Bourne Identity star is seen here taking a stroll with his wife Luciana and their sleepy daughter Gia, 14 months. Big sisters Alexia, 11, and Isabella, 3, weren't with the family.
Matt's good friend Ben Affleck is also back in Beantown with his family these days as he works on his latest film, The Town. Earlier today we saw Ben's wife Jennifer Garner out and about with their girls Violet, 3, and Seraphina, 9 months.
Matt Damon Sets A Good Example For His Kids

Matt Damon is becoming almost as well known for his charitable work as he is for his on-screen success. The Bourne Ultimatum star, who is actively involved with Water.org and the ONE campagin, tells Parade magazine how his mom taught him to give back as a kid - and how he hopes to pass the same lesson on to his daughters Isabella, 3, Gia, 1, and stepdaughter Alexia, 11.
“When I was a boy, my mom had a magnet on the refrigerator with a little picture of Gandhi along with a quote from him. It said, ‘No matter how insignificant what you do may seem, it is important that you do it,'" Matt recalls. “As a child, I was raised to believe that, and to this day I do my best to live it."
Long before he was making big bucks at the box office, Matt says he was giving what he could to the causes that mattered to him.
Matt Damon Avoids Doing "Anything Stupid"

Matt Damon and his family recently packed up and relocated from Miami to New York, but the star of The Informant says he’s mulling over a move out West – in part to be closer to his longtime pal Ben Affleck.
"We each have two girls within six months of each other. It's a strong argument to buy a house there and be near Ben," Matt tells USA Today. "We'll see how the little kids do (in New York). If the winter is too tough, we might move to L.A. All my friends with kids live there."
Matt, who will be celebrating his fourth wedding anniversary with his wife Luciana this year, revealed his secret to living largely outside of the paparazzi frenzy.
"I make them put veils on," he jokes of kids Alexia, 11, Isabella, 3, and Gia, 1. "What it really is is that we've been living in Miami. It will be interesting to see what happens now that we're in New York. Lucy is not a celebrity, and that really helps. Tabloids sell sex and scandal, and the narrative for me is that he's married to a normal woman and has got three kids and is kind of quiet. So as long as I don't do anything stupid…"
Matt and Lucy are seen here at this week’s NY premiere of The Informant.
Matt Damon On His "Testosterone Deficient" Home

Matt Damon is gearing up for a pretty big milestone: His 3-year-old daughter Isabella’s first day of preschool!
"I think I will get emotional when we take her,” the doting dad recently told People. “Her mom and I will probably be a big mess. She's ready but I don't know if I will be."
As for his youngest daughter, Matt reveals that 13-month-old Gia “is just ready to start talking and making sounds. It's been really exciting and we are anxious to hear what she says."
As the only male in a house full of girls, the Bourne Identity star finds himself surrounded by “a lot of pink, a lot of princesses” – and it sounds as though he wouldn’t have it any other way.
"I call it the 'testosterone deficit.' But I'm happy with that,” Matt says. “I love my girls and it's lot of pink, a lot of princesses and a lot of fun."

George Clooney has been playing host to some A-list pals this week as his Ocean's 11 co-stars Matt Damon and Don Cheadle and their families have been spotted spending time at his Italian villa in Laglio, Lake Como.

Matt Damon: "I'm A Lot More Boring Than I Used To Be"

The 38-year-old Bourne star and his wife Luciana are parents to Isabella, 2 1/2, Gia, 7 months, and Alexia, 10, Luciana's daughter from a previous relationship. He says of fatherhood:
"I'm probably a lot more boring than I used to be and more tired at night. You can't fake it. It's like when it's bedtime, it's bedtime. I go to bed earlier and I get up earlier. I think being a parent changes everything about you in really little ways and in ways that you don't really understand unless you have kids. It's kind of like describing a guitar chord - it's not really a simple thing to do."
Asked about the rumors that he and his good friend Ben Affleck - who won an Oscar for Good Will Hunting - are writing another script, Matt says that for now they're both just focused on family.
"We'll do something eventually. We went on vacation together and I guess everybody thought we were writing something, but we were just having fun with our families."
