Michael Sheen: I Moved To LA For Lily

British-born actor Michael Sheen may have relocated to Los Angeles to be closer to his 11-year-old daughter Lily Mo (whose mom is actress Kate Beckinsale) but he insists he doesn't have a typical Hollywood lifestyle.

"When I’m not working it’s quite simple. I don’t do the whole LA nightlife thing. I enjoy being at home, being with my daughter, and simple pleasures," the Frost/Nixon star tells UK newspaper The Daily Telegraph. "I’m here for Lily. If Lily wasn’t living here I wouldn’t be. But having lived here for eight years I’ve got used to it. I’ve made it my own and work options have increased for me, so that’s changed."

Michael Sheen & Lily Mo's Red Carpet Smiles

New Moon fever has hit! And who better to share it with than Michael Sheen and his adorable 10-year-old daughter Lily Mo?! The sweet father-daughter duo walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon on Monday (November 16). Lily looked so beautiful and excited alongside her proud papa!

Michael plays the evil vampire Aro in the much-anticipated Twilight sequel. Earlier this year, he said that when Lily first learned of his new role, she got a literal kick out of the news!

I was excited about being in New Moon mainly because I thought it would make my daughter Lily very happy since she loved the books and the first movie. But, she was a bit overwhelmed. It was like when I was kid--if there was something I was really into, the last thing I wanted was my mom and dad to be into it as well. So, at first, Lily got upset and sort of cried when I told her. I think it was just like her fantasy imaginative world suddenly colliding with reality. She did punish me a bit. When she kicked me, I think that was sort of acting out her frustration."

Michael Sheen: Lily Mo Is Hitting The Big Screen

Michael Sheen has received critical acclaim for playing Tony Blair in The Queen and David Frost in Frost/Nixon. Now he's taking on a role that his 10-year-old daughter Lily Mo is excited about: the creepy vampire Aro in the much-anticipated Twilight sequel, New Moon. The 40-year-old ex of Kate Beckinsale talked to Parade about Lily Mo's shock when he announced his new role and her film debut in Robert De Niro's new flick.

On how Lily Mo got a literal kick out of the news he was starring in New Moon: "I was excited about being in New Moon mainly because I thought it would make my daughter Lily very happy since she loved the books and the first movie.

On Lily Mo's film debut: "My daughter is in Everybody's Fine. I couldn't believe that her first role in a major film puts her mostly in scenes with Robert De Niro. I totally admired him growing up, and he was a large part of what made me want to be a film actor. So I said to Lily, 'What did you call him? Did you call him like, Bobby or Mr. De Niro?' And she went, 'No, I called him Sir.' So I said, 'Right. And from now on you shall call me Sir...'"

Kate Beckinsale & Lily Mo Hug It Out

Kate Beckinsale and her husband Len Wiseman took her daughter Lily Mo Sheen, 10, to Venice Beach on Sunday (Sept. 27). Lily took a stab at the climbing wall and Kate joined in the fun by going down a blow up slide. The affectionate mother-daughter duo were spotted having a hug amidst all the fun.

The 36-year-old Van Helsing star recently told mirror.co.uk that her biggest achievement in recent years has been remaining friends with Lily's father, New Moon actor Michael Sheen, and making sure he gets along well with her new hubby, Underworld director Len Wiseman.

It's just incredibly groovy [that everyone gets along]. I think they're both great guys. I love Michael. He's absolutely one of my most favourite people ever. I think we both felt it was really important for Lily also to have everybody in the same place. He loves her, I love her and Len loves her. Everyone is nice. I do feel like that's been my major achievement in the last decade."

Michael Sheen: Custody Arrangement Is 'Informal'

Michael Sheen, dad to 9-year-old daughter Lily with ex Kate Beckinsale, spoke to OK! magazine about how their custody arrangement works,

“It’s very relaxed and informal. We don’t work anything out too much. It’s up to Lily a lot of the time. When she gets bored of me, she goes to Kate, and when she gets bored of Kate, she comes to me.”

He also talked about what Lily is into right now,

“She’s rehearsing Mamma Mia! in her drama class,” he says. “She’s very excited about that.”

But he doesn't want her to follow in her parents' footsteps and become an actress.

“I hope she’s going to be a writer,” Michael says. “She’s a very good writer.”
