Molly Ringwald: Motherhood Changes Your Priorities

Actress and mom-of-three Molly Ringwald can add author to her resume now that her new book, Getting the Pretty Back, has hit bookshelves. The Pretty in Pink star, who has daughter Mathilda, 6, and twins Adele and Roman, 10 months, recently chatted to Canadian magazine Chatelaine about motherhood, career and what it means to be an "It woman."

On how motherhood has changed her life: "As everyone says, everything just comes into sharp focus and your priorities shift. Your sense of timing changes, and everything's not quite as spontaneous as it used to be, which is fine. It forces you to plan a little bit more. Those are the main things."

Mathilda Ignores Mom Molly Ringwald's Style Advice

Mom-of-three Molly Ringwald says her 6-year-old daughter Mathilda - who she recently described as "very willful, headstrong and very intelligent" - takes style advice from nobody.

"She already has a really strong sense of fashion. And she is only six years old. It's pretty formidable!" the Pretty in Pink star tells Canadian newspaper The National Post. "She was like my little doll; for years I really greatly enjoyed putting these outfits together for her. Now it's 'No, no, no, Mommy. This is your style, not mine.' She actually verbalized that when she was five. She was right - she really does put on these incredible outfits. She was actually the one who chose the colour of my Oscar dress."

Molly, 42, doles out advice on topics ranging from style to motherhood in her new book Getting the Pretty Back. She admits that finding the inspiration and energy to write was tough seeing as she was pregnant with twins Adele and Roman, now 9 months, at the time.

Molly Ringwald: I Just Want My Kids To Be Kids

Celebrities that have successfully made the transition from child-star to adult actor all seem to have different takes on the subject once they have children of their own. Some are okay with it, while others, like Molly Ringwald, will not have it! The Pretty in Pink star revealed to OK Magazine, that she doesn't worry too much about daughter Mathilda, 6, wanting to become an actor, saying, “Mathilda is very willful, headstrong and very intelligent, but so far she’s shown no interest in being onstage. I think she’s more of a behind-the-scenes person. That could change after college and all that. If she wants to do it, I would support her, but after college. Not as a child.”

The "Brat Pack" icon, who started out on the hit sitcom Diff'rent Strokes at age 11, adds, “I think that it’s hard having grown up in the business. I think it’s something I wouldn’t want for my own children. If they want to do it later, that’s great. But I think I just want them to be kids.”

Molly Ringwald: The Secret Is In The Scheduling

"Brat Packer" turned mom-of-three Molly Ringwald is kept busy these days by both career and kids. Tackling motherhood on-screen and off, she stars in the ABC Family hit The Secret Life of the American Teenager and is raising daughter Mathilda, 6, and twins Adele and Roman, 8 months.

"I've had to get a lot better about scheduling," Molly tells Entertainment Tonight of how she keeps up with her many responsibilities. "I used to be very spontaneous - I'd get on a plane, go anywhere I wanted anytime I wanted - and that's sort of changed. I just have to think a little further in advance and that's okay. I also have help - my cousin is also my nanny, which is nice, so I get to keep it in the family. … Luckily I [also] have a husband who's incredibly involved and who's a great father."

Molly Ringwald Shares Healthy Habits

Actress Molly Ringwald wowed viewers of the Academy Awards, showing off her svelte figure after welcoming twins just 8 months ago. The Pretty in Pink star revealed to PEOPLE the secret to her new body, a healthy diet and exercise! Ringwald, 42, made a change to her eating habits and added exercise when the twins were six-weeks old, saying, "It was more just a sensible diet, cutting down on sweets and upping the vegetables and protein, less starch, and I just worked out a lot, I'd say about three or four times a week."

The mom-of-three made a point to add some green to her diet, adding, "I try to make sure that I eat something green. I think that's just a really good rule of thumb. I love all different kinds of vegetables, but the green ones are generally the best for you and the best for your diet."

Molly Ringwald Talks Twins

Actress Molly Ringwald and her husband Panio Gianopoulos introduce their newborn twins Roman Stylianos and Adele Georgiana in the new issue of People magazine.

The happy mom-of-three - the babies join big sister Mathilda, 5 - talks about life with two babies in the house, saying, "It is exhausting, but it's wonderful."

Describing her routine since the arrival of Roman and Adele on July 10, Molly says, "You get up with one of the babies and feed and change that one and get the baby back to sleep, and the other wakes up, and then you feed and change that one."

The 41-year-old Pretty In Pink star was able to deliver the babies naturally, an experience she calls "extraordinary."

"The doctor grabbed [Roman] by the foot and pulled him out. Adele had hogged a lot of the oxygen in the blood so right away Roman needed a little more attention. But both babies cried almost immediately," Molly recalls.

Congratulations again to Molly and family!
