Ricky Martin & Matteo Grab A Bite In The Big Apple

Ricky Martin and son Matteo, 3 – who is the spitting image of his dad – were spotted as they finished up a lunch date in New York City on Friday (January 20).

The father-son duo exited Nello restaurant and hopped into a waiting SUV. Matteo's twin brother Valentino wasn't with them on this outing - hope they brought him some leftovers!

In a Twitter post that simply stated "chilling," Ricky Martin shared the above picture of himself and his gorgeous 1-year-old son Matteo enjoying a day at the beach. Twin brother Valentino napped this one out.

Ricky seems like such a doting daddy. The Livin' la Vida Loca singer said he has been transformed by fatherhood: "[It] feels amazing. I'm so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life."

The 37-year-old father-of-two has always been one of the most outspoken celebs in combating child trafficking. At the Clinton Global Initiative in September, Martin served as a presenter on the topic. Martin stated why he became an advocate for child trafficking:

Oh man, log onto the website and read what is going on and I swear, with all the information that's in there, you will find something to do. Just talking about it and creating awareness is a good start. I can't tell you what to do. It has to be born from within, like it started with me."

Born via surrogate in early August, Ricky Martin's 4-month-old twin boys, Valetino and Matteo, make their debut in this week's issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. The proud papa spoke candidly at home in Puerto Rico about his desire to be a parent, the decision to go with a surrogate and how he juggles caring for the twins on his own – he has no nanny! On his fatherhood joy: "I'm so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life." On not having a nanny: "I don't have a nanny. I'm doing this on my own because I don't want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I'm taking care of them, but I'm the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense." On his decision to use a surrogate: "Adoption was one option, but it's complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, 'I'm going to jump into this with no fear.'" Click below to find out Valentino & Matteo's personalities and Ricky's parenting philosophies.
