Kelly Rutherford Granted Restraining Order Against Husband
Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford was granted a temporary restraining order Thursday (Sept. 24) against her estranged husband Daniel Giersch, PEOPLE reports.
Rutherford claims the German entrepreneur has repeatedly harassed her and her family: "[He] has begun to follow me, my mother and my nanny and he shows up unexpectedly to threaten and scare us," says the order, which is in effect for 21 days pending a court date to hear evidence.
Giersch's lawyer, Fahi Takesh Hallin, released the following statement: "Daniel will remain focused on co-parenting both of their children and not make any personal comments in order to continue to protect the children's need for privacy and well being."
The estranged couple have been battling in court over their two children: son Hermés, who turns 3 next month, and daughter Helena, 3 months. A hearing date is set for Oct. 15.

Considering shes said its an abusive relationship, it's not surprising it took a quick turn of events. That's usually how it works, they deal with it and deal with it and deal with it until they can finally make the decision to get out. We don't have any clue what was going on, so it seems like a quick turn for the worse. It was probably dissolving for years and everything came to a head and then it was over. Social and public apearences mean absolutely NOTHING in relationships like this. It's a complete farce, and often the abuser is so charming and social that people have a hard time believing the victim, espeically since they seemingly stayed with that person for years with "no problems".

I couldn't agree more. Personally I think she just wants him gone and is using the courts to make it so hard for him to see the kids that he'll just give up and go away.
