CBS: Tell us all about your off-Broadway play Modotti.

AR: “Modotti is about Tina Modotti, a spectacular woman: photographer, Hollywood silent film actress, Mexican communist revolutionary, spy and nurse during the 1920s and 1930s. She was a true revolutionary in every aspect and inspires me daily.

The last performance is this Sunday, June 27th at 3pm.”

Virginia Madsen: “I Don’t Consider Myself A Single Parent”

Virginia Madsen: "I Don't Consider Myself A Single Parent"

Any working mom knows it can be a challenge juggling both roles, but Virginia Madsen, who is mom to 15-year-old son Jack, credits her ex Antonio Sabatto Jr with helping to make it easier for her to be both a mom and an actress.

“I don’t consider myself a single parent because Jack’s dad has always been in the picture, and we live around the corner from each other and we parent together,” the star of ABC’s The Scoundrels tells The Vancouver Sun. “He’s been a great help to me being away for so long (for the show) because I’ve never had to be away for this long. So Antonio has taken parenthood on. He’s done full-on high school parenting while I’ve been away having a great time. So I’m very grateful to him.”

Still single, the 48-year-old actress says she hasn’t given up on finding Mr. Right.

“God, I hope I fall in love again,” Virginia says. “I wish he’d get his act together and come get me or maybe I’m supposed to go get him. But I have a lot of work to do right now and I’ve been raising my son and it’s hard for guys to be involved with an actress. And I get that.”

M.I.A. On Her Childhood, Move To Brentwood

M.I.A. On Her Childhood, Move To Brentwood

M.I.A., born to the name Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, opens up to GQ about her extraordinary life. “I think this is the happiest I’ve been for a long time,” says the 34-year-old mother of one. The Grammy and Academy Award-nominated artist opens up about her troubled childhood in Sri Lanka, her move to California, and her 1-year-old son Ikhyd.

On 1-year-old son Ikhyd: “Today he climbed out of the pen, had to take the door kind of off the hinges and move it aside to get around. And that’s amazing, that he’s figured it out already—and that he’s strong enough to do that.”

On moving to Brentwood, not New York City: “I wanted an environment where I could have a lot of friends and family come and stay. That was the important part for me. And in New York I wouldn’t have been able to afford someplace where I could have, like, all my friends come and crash out and where I could still have a baby.”

On the war-torn Sri Lankan ghetto of her childhood: “I lived on a street, a dead-end street. There were like seven or eight houses, and then you turn the corner and there was another seven, eight houses. But my whole family lived on the street. So it was amazing. I grew up with about a hundred of my cousins, playing hide-and-seek all over the village and the temples.”

    M.I.A.’s third album, /\/\ /\ Y /\, will be released July 13.
