Melanie Chisholm: “Being A Mother Has Increased My Confidence”

Melanie Chisholm: "Being A Mother Has Increased My Confidence"

Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm is trading in the glitz and glamor of the Spice Girls for something a little more subdued these days: A turn on the London stage. The 35-year-old mom is receiving acclaim for her portrayal of Mrs Johnstone in the musical Blood Brothers. She says that motherhood prepared her to tackle the difficult role.

“No one can explain to you that bond of love you feel for your child,” says Melanie, who is mom to 10-month-old daughter Scarlett. “And it has helped me understand the role, too. When Mrs Johnstone must give up one of her children, I think of ever having to lose Scarlett, and my heart literally bleeds.”

Sarah Jessica Parker Welcomes The Chaos!

Sarah Jessica Parker Welcomes The Chaos!

This past year has been incredibly eventful for actress Sarah Jessica Parker.

From welcoming twin girls, Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge via surrogate, to returning to the role of Carrie Bradshaw for the newest Sex and the City installment, Sarah’s 2009 was full of excitement.

The 44-year-old fashion icon recently sat down with The Daily Mail’s Elaine Lipworth – over 6am coffee near the Greenwich Village home she shares with husband Matthew Broderick, 47, son James Wilkie, 7, and her 6-month-old twins – to chat about life with three children, handling the spotlight, keeping her marriage strong and enjoying the chaos that is her life!

On how thrilling it is to have twin daughters: “It’s wonderful, it’s a blessing, we feel really privileged. It was a different experience, in obvious ways, from having James Wilkie, but it was very magical. It’s brought us unspeakable joy. They are tiny little girls just figuring out who they are, and it is a delight.”

On life with twins: “It’s crazy all day long, but you adapt very quickly. It is daunting, yeah, but we welcome the chaos. And as they get older there will be more chaos, once they start talking and crawling around and getting into mischief. It will be insane, it will be wonderful – and it is exactly what we wanted.”

On how her son is getting on with his new sisters: “Babies are not terribly interesting to a seven-year-old, but he’s very proud to be an older brother – he understands how lucky he is. I think your first-born is a special experience: we have a remarkable young boy in our lives and now I feel really grateful that he has siblings to share his good fortune. I belong to a big family, so I know the value of having brothers and sisters.”

Max & Bob Sheen To Stay With Mom Brooke

Max & Bob Sheen To Stay With Mom Brooke

Following the Christmas Day charges of domestic assault levied against actor Charlie Sheen after an altercation with his wife Brooke Mueller in Aspen, Colorado, sources say that that Pitkin County Social Services has paid a visit to ensure that the couple’s 9-month-old twins Max and Bob are in good hands with their mother.

“The people from the social services agency talked to Brooke, her mom, her step dad and her nanny, and told them that everything looks good and Brooke appears to be an excellent mother,” a source tells People.

While Two and a Half Men star Charlie has returned to LA, the source reveals that “Brooke and the twins, Max and Bob, are planning to stay in their rented Aspen house for at least another month. After that they may go to Palm Beach to visit family for awhile.”

Meanwhile, Brooke’s lawyer recently told the Associated Press that both his client and her husband of almost two years hope to reconcile.

“Whatever was said and whatever happened, I’m chalking it up as one really bad night,” he said, adding, “They’re very much in love. They want to try to work it out and want to have the best shot at doing that.”
