When Jerry O’Connell went on Late Night With Conan O’Brien, he talked about pregnant wife Rebecca Romijn – who is due with twin girls in January – and said something he probably shouldn’t have.
I’ll look at her, and I will go, ‘My goodness….you are huge!’” Jerry laughingly said.
Jerry has released a statement to People magazine, apologizing for his remarks,
“I regret calling my wife ‘huge’ on Conan O’Brien,” O’Connell tells PEOPLE. “I meant to say that there are specific areas of my wife that are larger than normal and growing every day. All other portions of my wife are quite petite. I apologize to her and will be coming home with flowers.”
Thandie Newton has two daughters – Ripley, 7, and Nico, 3 – and says that delivering them was such an amazing experience she wouldn’t mind doing it once a year.
“Birth is very challenging in the best way possible. Every fiber of your bring in alive. It’s like you are conducting electricity, literally creating something. I’d like to give birth every year if I would, just for the experience.”
Revealing that during her pregnancy she became “wild and fierce,” she believes that being pregnant helped her discover herself.
“People talk about pregnant women as if they’ve gone a bit mad. You know, ‘She’s a bit hormonal.’ But I felt as though I’d been introduced to myself for the first time. You become totally uncompromising, wild and fierce.”
Less than one month after the birth of his daughter, Gia, proud new dad Matt Damon spoke about how fatherhood has changed his life for the better,
“It probably influences me in ways I’m not even aware of,” the actor said at the Toronto International Film Festival. “I think certainly once you have kids it’s hard not to see your child in every other child that you meet. And when you see the way a lot of children live in the world it makes you very angry as a parent.”
When asked what he loves the most about being a dad, he couldn’t decide on just one thing,
“Well that’s a tough question because there’s a lot to love about it. It’s probably the indescribable way that a new child opens up your heart. It sounds kinda corny but it’s true.”
Matt said his newborn baby daughter Gia, who was born on Aug. 20, is already smiling,
“She smiles now… mostly when she goes to the bathroom. That’s natural.”
Matt and wife Luciana Barroso are also parents to 2-year-old daughter Isabella and Alexia, Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship. The couple wed in a civil ceremony in NYC on Dec. 9, 2005.
