Costar Tim DeKay: Tiffani Thiessen "Will Make A Great Mom"

Before sharing the happy news of her pregnancy with the public, Tiffani Thiessen let White Collar costar Tim DeKay in on her little secret.

“I could share [the news] with my wife,” Tim tells PEOPLE. “But other than that, I couldn’t share it with anybody. I was just so happy for her when she told me.”

Tim, who has two children of his own, says Tiffani “will make a great mom” and that when she returns to the USA drama “she’ll be swarmed with hugs.”

Tiffani, 35, and husband Brady Smith, who announced the pregnancy earlier this week, celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in July, saying, “We’re hoping to one day start a family. We’re just trying to time it out with work. We’re getting there. We’re now on that level that we’re thinking we need to make an addition to this twosome of ours.”

The couple’s first child is due next May.

    Cate Blanchett Covers Vogue

    Cate Blanchett Covers Vogue

Cate Blanchett wows on the December cover of Vogue. The 40-year-old Academy Award-winning actress is currently performing as the pretentious Blanche Dubois in the play Streetcar Named Desire at Kennedy Center’s Eisenhower Theater through November 21. The mom of three boys – Dashiell, 7 1/2, Roman, 5, and Ignatius, 1 1/2 – and self proclaimed “theater geek,” opens up about the importance of theater, her career choices and her family.

On her family: “When the boys aren’t playing with friends, they can usually be found playing backstage. They’re always engaged in the family business, so to speak.”

On her career choices: “I’m not very cautious or careful. It’s always been more about having a variety of experiences than any planned trajectory… I think that in a way, projects choose you.”

On the importance of theater: “In the wake of everything that’s happened in the world in the last eighteen months, we’re thinking about what we’ve lost. So much of the play is about the death of poetry and idealism and hope—the fine, delicate things in our lives, the intangible, ephemeral things in our lives—which theater actually represents, doesn’t it? It’s ephemeral by its very nature. If you’re not there, you miss it. It’s gone.”
